Trump’s White House Call Logs Have 7-Hour Gap On Jan. 6

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.

The White House records of Trump’s calls on Jan. 6 don’t include any calls the president made or received from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. that day, according to the Washington Post and CBS News, which obtained the records. The call logs were turned over to the Jan. 6 committee by the National Archives. Key excerpts from the story:

Merrick Garland and the DOJ will definitely have to not look into this.

I’m thinking it’s more than just a weird coincidence. I’ll say that he was on the phone with the Willard hotel and they in turn with Jan 6 insurrectionists.

I’m beginning to wonder a bit about DeSantis’ obsession with ‘gayness’.

It used to be said that those who fear gay are closeted and are afraid that their own gayness will surface. The self-hatred because of that is why they are so vocal about being anti-gay. He’s just making too much of a case about his internal fears.

In any case, yep, we have a latter day 18 minute gap in the record. So they can probably back into it with all the other communications they have, but this gap shows that the administration was certainly doing something they didn’t want anyone to know about at the time or ever.

Notice how two of the stories in the Memo have to do with further delays in the justice process: the Trump Org subpoena just had a bit of a goalpost move on a subpoena issued two years ago (which should tell everyone how effective subpoenas can be) and now the contempt charges on Meadows. At this pace, I don’t see anything getting done this year, or maybe ever.

And the Kushner testimony will be nothing but a litany of fifth amendment and executive privilege which, for once, will be legit since Jared was working for TFG. So nothing to see here, move along.

Okay, for those of us not current on Canadian political acronyms, what is an MPP? MP would be Member of Parliament, but that extra “P” has me befuddled.

A Member of Provincial Parliament ( MPP ) is an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the Canadian province of Ontario.

The recommendation will now go to the House for a full vote, where it’ll likely pass and go to the Justice Department, which has done … not very much at all with the contempt recommendation it already got for ex-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

I don’t dislike Garland and am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as he makes his way toward building the indisputable case against the previous Administration, but part of me is getting awfully tired of waiting. That wait and resulting disappointment is having a downward effect on the morale of more than half of this entire country who are anxiously waiting for something to be done. I think it’s absolutely critical that the public see some activity PDQ if we entertain any thoughts of holding Congress this fall. Toward that end, i almost want to see a new AG take charge, someone like John Fetterman. I recognize the extreme dangers of politicizing the DOJ, but boy howdy! Wouldn’t that energize the base!

This guy is a complete asshat. His stupidity got him kicked out of the Ontario provincial Conservatives. He sits as an independent member of parliament but won’t be running for re-election this year. This is just another in a long chain of activity that has landed him in trouble. Hopefully this time he’ll get a few months behind bars.

He’s in grand mal failure mode. If he lack the guts to do his job, he should resign. I’m more than tired of waiting. I am totally fed up.

My first thought was how FatAss’s 7 hour gap is something like 20 times longer than Nixon’s 18 minutes.

Which seems about right, as FatAss is 20 times the crook that Nixon was…

Plus the cherry on top of this sh*t sundae is the excuse from the guy who watches television all day long, that he doesn’t even know what a burner phone is. I am seeing a mental breakdown in real time.
