President Trump’s surprise address during the first day of the Republican National Convention on Monday was a big departure from what his re-election campaign billed as an “optimistic and upbeat” affair.
At some point, this schtick seemed fresh to millions of Middle Americans who had never seen a bad Borscht Belt comedian. At what point do they just decide it is no longer fresh and change the channel?
A senior GOP strategist, who is not a "Never Trumper" and often gives the president the benefit of the doubt, tells me: "If what we just heard is a preview of the President's message for the week, he loses and we lose. We can kiss the Senate goodbye if the tone doesn't change."
All of the Dumpster’s pent up energy and rage because he hasn’t been allowed to do his rallies will be spewing forth during the light- and love-filled ode to patriotism and democracy they have planned for the next few days.
I won’t tune in for fear that either my head or my tv will explode.
Trump evolved through a different taxonomic hierarchy in the biological classifications. He clearly missed “class” and “family,” as did his supporters who choose to function from their brain stems and a center of fear, hatred, and rage.
Trump said that it would be “a kick in the ass” if Biden wins the election in November and takes credit for his administration’s actions that he says will lower prescription costs.
Trump is sooooo pathological. He already is obsessing about possibly losing the election, and gaming scenarios out where he loses the election yet can “win” the aftermath. And of course, “winning” and “losing” has nothing to do with pubic service or really anything but his ego.
