President Donald Trump has always had a bit of a soft spot for public corruption.
From Duncan Hunter to Chris Collins to Steve Stockman, he’s been quite willing to use his clemency powers to the benefit of politicians who have abused the public’s trust. Tuesday’s lengthy list of last-minute clemencies was no different.
But of course, it took courage to ramp up the lying, stealing, and incompetency to get to the highest office in the land. I bet this is Trump’s favorite book as a child:
The sheer irony of Trump as well as Josh Hawley using the clinched fist in the air as a symbol of rebellion and sticking it to the man. You can be sure that they and many of their supporters would be in perpetual rage when athletes and social activists used it 40-50 years ago.
Pardons served two purposes for Trump. One, to silence witnesses that could help convict him of felonies. Two, provide bribes that are now in Donald’s Cayman Islands bank accounts.
