Trump’s Hiatus From Bashing The Media Sure Didn’t Last Long | Talking Points Memo

President Donald Trump has, for the most part, managed to hold off on his usual attacks on the press over the past few days, even praising reporters for being “very fair” with their coverage on the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this week.

Of course not
The press has been treating him like the idiot he is
If I may be so Blunt
ABOUT FUCKING TIME
His ineptitude and gaslighting is going to cause millions of lives

tRump and Q-Tip are now on TV at FEMA. Q-Tip just finished praising his lord and savior while said lard and slobber sat with his arms crossed more tightly that I’ve seen since Angela Merkel got in his fat face.

I love the way Q-Tip begins any press exposure with his praise for tRump and thanks for all of his wonderful wonderfullness.

Spanky has clearly pivoted to being presidential. I give him an 11.

I think he still thinks he’s dealing with the NY Post and that tabloid culture over there.

The state propagandist—oh, I’m sorry, the OAN personality—once again pushed the baseless accusation that reporters were “siding with state propaganda.”

I saw a (very) brief clip on last night’s news and he seemed almost coherent and quite composed (by his standard). I wondered if he was actually starting to listen and take some advice. I was afraid he might look presidential and pull it off. Good to see he reverted to his good old infantile raging just in case some were getting fooled.

But… I was sure we had finally witnessed the pivot.

When it’s all over he will proclaim from the rooftops that “I defeated Covid-19!!!”

The entire session was crazy nuts. He lives in an alternate and altered reality. The 25th amendment needs to be invoked. Every single staff member standing there with him and all of his Republican friends know he is batshit. Every single reporter (with one exception )in that room knows he is failing. Once again he blamed the media, China, and state and local governments for not anticipating the gravity of the pandemic. He was briefed in January and ignored and down played the warnings.

Personally, I think the media, specifically video, has bent over backwards to make him look good. I’ve watched in real time plenty (well several - plenty can’t really apply here) of press conferences and speeches where there are times he seems lost and can’t really fully articulate whatever idea is in his head and then there is all the slurring (and sniffing - the man has a breathing problem). When I see reports on the press conference or speech, they never show clips that make him look bad - I mean beyond the obvious bad answers or statements he makes, where they really can’t help him. The only places that ever mention those issues is almost exclusively late night comedy. trump should thank the media for not picking the low hanging fruit he offers.

Except for, you know, all those of us who, kinda, you know, . . . died.

“Really, we should probably get rid of about another 75-80 percent of you,” [Trump] said.

Chiselin’ Trump then proceeded to shake the hands of 75-80 percent of them.
