Trump hates science and scientists because he knows folks like Dr Fauci are way smarter than he is and it galls him. So he lies and brags and bullies and fires every scientist he can get his grubby hands on. We see the result with near 100,000 dead Americans.
His behavior is utterly unforgivable. He should resign. Now. Today.

This incident is emblematic of the entire Trump COVID-19 clusterfuk response. Let’s read between the lines. The workers don’t want the dumbshit showing up without a mask, and he’s too stupid and arrogant to obey basic safety precautions, even in public. So they told manangement to tell him to piss off.

It’s also obvious they didn’t work these questions out and see if the visit was viable before announcing it. Zero coordination, zero due diligence, the stable genius announces a thing will happen and everyone falls over themselves trying to work around the resulting chaos. Time and time again, this happens.

At his factory just off the Delaware River, in the far southeastern corner of Pennsylvania, Joe Boyce clocked in on March 23 for the longest shift of his life.
In his office, an air mattress replaced his desk chair. He brought a toothbrush and shaving kit, moving into the Braskem petrochemical plant in Marcus Hook, Pa., as if it were a makeshift college dormitory. The casual office kitchen became a mess hall for him and his 42 co-workers turned roommates. The factory’s emergency operations center became their new lounge room.
For 28 days, they did not leave — sleeping and working all in one place.
So once I doubled checked where Trump want to go I knew it sounded familiar. Trump needed this visit to burnish is “careing” leader roll, which all know is bullshit.
This team of workers at this facility showed integrity and sacrifice, which is something Trump has never shown.

The industrial complex (which keeps up a tradition of better living through chemistry along I-95 that starts south of Newark, NJ and keeps going all the way to Baltimore. Marcus Hook is smack on the border with Delaware. I would note that this is also collocated with the country’s major pharma belt, but they’re all in the suburbs west of Phila. and in central NJ between New Brunswick and Princeton. I suspect a lot of people commute between the three states.
And absent covid-19, would you let Trump in a petrochemical plant?
