Then-President Donald Trump’s effort to steal a second term inflicted a deep emotional toll on anyone who stood in its way, from state House speakers to on-the-ground election workers.
Democrats assembling to noisily protest the rollback of an established human right is appalling to Mitch McConnell, but pretend militia boys terrorizing someone who’s on Don the Con s–t list, well, that’s just life.
Let’s hope that the Biden DOJ will actually start looking at this conspiracy to terrorize election workers and officials in all the states where this happened. There needs to be accountability for those who have incited this seditionist conspiracy. Clearly innocent people have been targetted by the conspirators and this conspiracy to terrorize election workers and officials needs to be reined in and with sufficient consequence to the conspirators that their dangerous game will not be so dangerous to us and the Republic.
I DGAF about any Republican getting doxxed or them and their families getting threatened and harassed at their homes and offices. Frankly they deserve it and more.
I’m reminded of Coach Doc Rivers, who made the following quote a while ago:
“What stands out to me is just watching the Republican convention, viewing this fear. All you hear is Donald Trump and all of them talking about fear,” Doc Rivers said. “We’re the ones getting killed. We’re the ones getting shot. We’re the ones that we’re denied to live in certain communities. We’ve been hung. We’ve been shot. All you do is keep hearing about fear.
“It’s amazing why we keep loving this country, and this country does not love us back. It’s really so sad.”
He would vote for an habitual liar who was a global embarrassment, alienated our allies, and who sidled up to kleptocratic authoritarians like Putin, MBS, and Erdoğan to make highly profitable side deals rather than any generic Democrat? Houston, we have a problem.
It feels remarkable to say this, but . . . (with Trump there is always a “but”) every time that I think I’ve finally seen the worst that Trump has to offer, we hear another example of something that surpasses the previous depths of amorality and cruelty.
I came to the conclusion that Trump was a complete sociopath, with no saving graces at all, when he took office And, even now, he continues to plumb new depths that I didn’t consider (and, yes, I believed the “pee pee tape” is probably real).
