Trump’s Desire To Launch 2024 Bid Early Grew After Hutchinson’s Testimony

Former President Trump has reportedly been considering announcing his 2024 presidential bid earlier than expected — a desire that has grown in light of damning revelations during the Jan. 6 Select Committee’s public hearings that began last month, CNN reported.

You’re toast, Trump. Be prepared for a ride down another escalator into a less comfortable place.

As soon as he gets more of these for props he’ll announce.

Great! Please proceed with the announcement, I want to see Republicans tearing each other apart for the next two years.

Dude, seriously…go AWAY

It’s the GOP playbook…no matter how bad it MIGHT be, double down and assume you’ll get away with it.

*&^%$#@!

“Donald begged like a dog. He said ‘Sir, please don’t indict me!’ Look how he panicked and totally choked. Sad!”

On one hand TFG may believe a candidacy will help further insulate him from criminal indictment as well as forestall primary challenge by such as DeSantis but his ego won’t be able to suffer a low-key announcement and it is unlikely someone like DeSantis would be forestalled so TFG faces a dilemma unique to his diseased personality; fear of jail vs fear of losing.

ETA and of course there is always the possibility TFG is preparing to negotiate with whomever looks strongest in the GOP primary for a blanket pardon in exchange for his endorsement and withdrawal from the contest.

ETA part deux: it also appears TFG’s original sponsor may be looking for his replacement so he is doubtless feeling pressed for time; e.g., `

Meanwhile on Russian state TV: annoyed by Trump reportedly promising to destroy the Russian Federation and Putin's hegemony, state TV host Olga Skabeeva said that Russia "will have to think whether to re-install him again as the American president. We haven't decided yet." pic.twitter.com/EVh1o13gmI

NB: it is doubtful TFG knows the word hegemony much less would say anything countra Putin so this particular bit of threatening gaslight from Russia becomes even more intriguing.

Gonna be hilarious when it turns out Trump can’t even beat DeSantis. May as well just tattoo a big L on his forehead.

I mean, it isn’t surprising. After all, of all the ways Trump has found over the years to avoid being prosecuted, running for president turned out to be one of the more successful ones.

This would be a gift from the political gods for Democrats. There should be less internal squabbling if confronted with the prospect of running against Trump.

For sure, there would be even more attention to the Congressional investigation of the previous election, which would turn into a long-running, ultra-toxic anti-Donald infomercial. Trump would undoubtedly feel compelled to spew lies and hatred in reaction to every revelation, thus calling more attention to them. More members of his party would be forced to choose sides, and to renew those choices at their own cost with every new felony revealed. Other potential candidates, like DeSantis would be put into a very tough spot, having to choose whether to run against Donald.

In sum, he’d be the gift that keeps on giving to Democrats, and every new revelation would likely move him even further from winning the election, or from bringing in a majority into Congress on his diminishing coattails.

One GOP source familiar with those conversations was reportedly told that Trump considered announcing as soon as the first week of July — but others in his orbit warned that there was a lack of a plan in place for a major campaign announcement and “doesn’t want this to be a dud,” a person close to Trump described to CNN.

Chiselin’ Trump could announce it on TRUTH Social. What could go wrong?

On the plus side, if Trump were still in the running come 2024 and he could find more Giuliani lickspittles, DeSantis would have to expend a lot of cash (or at least press) fending off an endless stream of baseless lawsuits.

Hell, escalators are practically ramps.

I, for one, would love to see him announce his candidacy just to see it ripped away with felony charges filed against him.

Defending LOLsuits isn’t particularly expensive.

ETA: And filing them is a great way to lose your license to practice.

Though that’s more like the dog salivating at the sound of the bell. He attracted a slew of scrutiny by running for the Presidency. It was being sworn in as President that immunized him from being prosecuted for it. If Hillary Clinton had been sworn in as the 45th President, Trump would have been in a world of hurt legally, starting in 2017.

Not bad, Trump. Harder to prosecute someone running, particularly an ex-prez.

Smells like bottom of the barrel.

According to CNN, Trump has told associates that he wants to launch another presidential campaign as early as this month due to President Biden’s low poll numbers and to make his potential GOP rivals aware of his candidacy.

“Hey! Look at MEEEEEEEE! You’re not paying enough attention to MEEEEEE.”

The sad sack of sad sacks.
