Trump’s DC US Attorney Nom Targets House Dem, Expanding Effort To Stifle Trump Admin Criticism

One month into the New Fascist Order, we don’'t have a country anymore. K$H is the new Gestapo capo, smiting his and DonOld’s enemies, real or perceived, civilly or criminally, he’ll figure it out.

Yes. They have to say he’s not involved or else he would have to divest from any business that does business with the US government.

Or he can be a ‘senior advisor’ at the White House with no power or control over anything.

Legally he can’t do both.

Wanker.

“Free speech has limits and threatening government workers crosses the line,” says the guy who represented the January 6 insurrectionists.

You are correct. When I say it (because it’s true) others say I’m being too dramatic. But here’s the thing: there is no actual law at work right now. When those you hope to fall back on to enforce the law do not consider it valid when it comes to themselves, you have a failed state that simply hasn’t begun to collapse in a noticeable way.

The part about these assholes that really astonishes me is that they are literally doing this like a bunch of teenagers playing a game. A US attorney is going to “investigate” a legit Congressman because he’s a Dem is from a fucking comic book, but here we are. Mel Brooks wouldn’t touch this shit because it’s too imbecilic and unbelievable.

But there are some dramatic times ahead. Shit is going to start to fall, and when it starts it’s going to go quickly. People are going to be dead and dying in the carnage of this summer’s coming storms, and one guy will golf while the other laughs. People are going to be shooting deputies who come to evict them because they got fired from their fucking job for no reason and can’t find another one because the whole fucking country is crashing out, and one guy will golf while the other laughs.

The letter of inquiry comes amid a Wednesday all staff email Martin sent out, announcing “Operation Whirlwind” — a new initiative, he claims, will hold those who threaten federal workers accountable.

If he’s in the protecting-federal-workers business, someone should tell him that President Musk and his merry band of incels are in the business of putting him out of business by removing all objects of his protection.

The only difference between Elon and Felon is that you get F’d.

Here’s an interview with Rep. Garcia.

Are they going to investigate the prominent people who publicly prayed for President Obama to die prematurely? Or the people who reposted the picture of President Biden bound up in a pickup bed?

No. They’re going to be the Kennedy Center Honors winners this year.

As I’ve noted previously, a young friend got a visit from the SS about an idle threat regarding Musk that he made well before the inauguration and the beginning of Musk’s co-presidency. I occasionally ponder whether it’s time for an “I am Spartacus” moment where hundreds of thousands post idle threats against Musk on the internet so that there’s neither time nor personnel to address the issue, but I’m not sure it’s a good idea, & I’m pretty certain I don’t have the wherewithal to make it happen.

Am I being detained, Mr. Martin?

Am I free to go, Mr. Martin?

I will only speak with an attorney present, Mr. Martin.

ETTD, Part 989:

Trump inserts himself into US-Canada game and insists on giving the US team a pep talk before the game — Canada wins 3-2 in OT.

LOL — Trump is a loser.

One estimate from Axios suggests that Trump’s arrest rate so far is behind that of former President Joe Biden.

Funny that. Bet that very few immigrants of whatever legal status are willing to talk to this administration. Not even about TDA.

If I were REP Garcia I would respond as follows:

TO: U.S. Attorney Ed Martin
Subject: Alledged threats to Public Officials

Mr. Martin, please note the following:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Article I, Section 6, Clause 1
Representatives shall…except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

18 U.S. Code § 242
Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States…shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

I trust this answers your questions. If you require further information please consult with my attorney. They are already in contact with the DOJ Inspector General Horowitz.

Representative Robert Garcia

Yesterday, Europe decided it has to step up more for Ukraine. Europe, not the US, is already the biggest supporter of Ukraine, and apparently the part of NATO interested in not slipping into electoral autocracy like Russia.

So, 3, 2, 1, Putin predictably busts another cable in the Baltic Sea. From the Swedish PM,

I have been aware for some time of the media reports about a possible new cable break in the Baltic Sea. The government is being kept informed by the relevant authorities who are investigating what has happened.

We take all reports of possible damage to infrastructure in the Baltic Sea very seriously. As I said earlier, they must be seen in the context of the serious security situation that exists.

The real Titanic movie, A Night to Remember (1958), was made in the wake of McCarthyism and is really about self-deception, disinformation and low-information behaviors in an emergency. After the Titanic hits an iceberg, part of the failure to rescue is due to a general belief that the ship is unsinkable. Even the captain needs to have sinking explained to him. Emergency flares are ignored, calls for help are seen as a joke. Those in steerage are never apprised of the situation. Yet the technical assessments of how the ship will sink are spot on, the engineers are correct throughout. It’s only when people find their ankles in water that it begins to dawn on them that there’s a problem.

It’s a great metaphor for the current state of the US. We have already struck the iceberg, so it might be time to listen to the ship’s engineers rather than disinformation broadcasters.
