Trump’s Coronavirus Treatment: Here’s What We Know | Talking Points Memo

Actually, the best would be that the damned organizers shitcan it. That way nobody can turn it into a talking point.

@mattinpa, just for you.

He’s not out of the woods yet, and there are some not-good signs, but statistically most people his age survive. They’re throwing everything in the armamentarium at him. With Biden polling 14 points ahead (in one, not the average) I’m willing to see him make it. Don’t want him to cheat the electoral hangman. Better for society to see him voted out.

Oh thank you. We can all play along at home!

They’re rational, but Trump and his inner circle managed to convince everyone in the White House that the rapid test was a magic pill that kept the virus at bay. You know, the test with the 15% false negative rate.

If you test negative it means you’re safe, and that’s all you have to do. Just ignore whether you’re infected and don’t have enough viral load to show up yet. Everyone bought into it, because it’s easier than wearing masks, and this gang always takes the easy path instead of the harder one. Buying into the frequent testing fable was so much easier.

Thanks for that.

I’ll send him contact information for the Lincoln Project.

Don Jr. & Erik are going to try to break him out … there are on their way …

Yes, I think it took him seven years to issue this because he has probably been dealing with internal opposition for most of that time. And, like you, I don’t have much hope for the institution itself long term. But this:

Anyone who thinks that the only lesson to be learned was the need to improve what we were already doing, or to refine existing systems and regulations, is denying reality,” he wrote. “God willing, after all this, we will think no longer in terms of ‘them’ and ‘those’, but only ‘us’. … If only we might keep in mind all those elderly persons who died for lack of respirators, partly as a result of the dismantling, year after year, of healthcare systems.”

As a devout critic of walling off religious commitment from other sources of human values, it actually made me momentarily consider re-exploring my ancestral ties to the church. Just momentarily, though.

If I had a nickel for every time I was accused of being a cafeteria Catholic…Truth is, it’s just more projection.

How good are Gabriel Sherman’s sources? Sometimes it’s like he must have a wire on these people.

Definitely not out of the woods, just because he’s on major happy drugs and seems ok.

And since he’s determined to do his own thing regardless, he’s in a really not-good place, since the doctors won’t overrule him, and he thinks he’s just fine because the happy drugs are masking the underlying problems.

Haha. Best part is that Junior will have to deny this…

Turns out the happy drugs were administered for the benefit of staff.

The even bester part is that no one will believe him – either way.

Such a huge issue. More than one doctor who felt free to talk said yesterday that they’d have restrained him and done a psych eval before letting him pull a stunt like that.

I just want him gone.
Yes, electoral repudiation would be great, but if he just up and dies, I’m OK with that too.
