Histrionic personality disorder

A mental health condition that affects the way a person thinks, perceives, and relates to others.

Genes play a role in the development of personality disorders. Abuse or instability during childhood also may increase risk.

A person with histrionic personality disorder seeks attention, talks dramatically with strong opinions, is easily influenced, has rapidly changing emotions, and thinks relationships are closer than they are.

Treatments typically include talk therapy.

Trump’s Control Of the Republican Party Is Bad For Democracy

Sounds like an understatement to me.

I wish there were a waste bin of history into which the contemporary GQP could be deposited.
Unfortunately, experience teaches that no such thing exists.

Um, some of the state GOP/GQP might find themselves in court, bankruptcy court. We’ve talked about how Donnie has scooped up all the :money_with_wings: from small donors. So if all the small donors keep giving Donnie money then the state GOP are going to have to lean on their bigger donors, who may not be as willing to go along with Trump’s Cult of Personality Party.
I think the money aspect of how campaign money works in the countries this article listed might be worth another article.

You’d need the Black Hole of History for that. Gonna cost ya.

Trump’s Control Of the Republican Party Is Bad For Democracy

Wow! Bold take in (checks calendar) Feb 2024.

I fear that professional courtesy might stop a black hole from stripping Donnie of all of his constituent particles.

Just wanna say that’s a great photo TPM posted here to go along with the article.

All photos of Rumpelthinskin should be obscured in one way or another in this matter. That way we don’t have to keep putting kittens and puppies in place of him to keep reminding us of encountering his omnipresent fugly mug.

I’ve come to appreciate the lowly slug looking better and more attractive than his face these days. The face of a parasitic worm would even be a better substitution.

Among the other things the Jack Smith filing does it clarify, once and for all, that Trump had no normal security clearance (he did have a Q clearance). (https://twitter.com/emptywheel/status/1753751254164005226?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet )

Not surprising, but kind of a relief, that Donnie didn’t get any kind of security clearance separate from the one that had to be granted him as Prez’nent. (ed.)

Sorry, but the title is too long. It should read: “The Republican Party is Bad for Democracy.”

That means we really need to stop focusing on Fat Boy. His Lardass is only the latest in a long line of corrupt, self-serving motherfuckers and a symptom of the rot in the Republican party that started with Nixon. His cynical “southern strategy” gave voice to the racist rage over the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act, galvanizing a far right freak out in the form of fascist think tanks whose goal was to turn back the clock to a white America. Combine that with a weaponized war on his political enemies cast as a “war on drugs” and you have the recipe for a slow-moving fascist coup.

Then along came Reagan, who completed the job by giving a reach-around to the religious right and putting their idiotic agenda front and center. Sure it was more cynicism and pandering, but it locked the religious loons and the power-mad fascist dickheads into a permanent partnership. We’ll give you women’s bodies to control, but you have to keep us in power, no matter what we do. The evangelicals happily sold their souls to the Republican party. Now they’re both clinging to one another and can never be separated because without one another they know they’re nothing.

Meanwhile, they’re winning. They’ve been so successful in pushing us to the right, in fact, that what we think is a left wing position, is considered center-right in every other country.

What we need to do is shame every two-faced Republican politician who belches about “patriotism” for being a Republican. You know the ones. The ones who want to distance themselves from the crazies in the party, but who continue to support it. I’m looking at you Romney. Cheney. Kinzinger. Cut the bullshit and quit the fucking party already. These rat fucks will never grow enough of a spine to do it, so shaming them into renouncing the party, even if it doesn’t work, would cause enough chaos to cause the party to collapse on itself.

it’s worth a shot.

We have found that what matters for democracy is not so much the ambitions of power-hungry leaders, but rather whether those in their support group will tame them.

Exactly right.

There have always been and will always be greedy and ambition politicians. What’s causing the collapse into authoritarianism in the Republican party is their failure to hold their members accountable for abuses. Trump is just the most prominent one they’ve failed to hold accountable, but there are others such as Ken Paxton, who Texas Senate Republicans let off the hook even after Texas House Republicans led the charge for his impeachment.

As long as Republicans continue to fail to hold their members accountable, the party will slip further into authoritarianism.

I wish Fat Boy were a slug. We’d just need to lay down a line of salt and watch the fat fuck dissolve on contact. Though that would be a tidal wave of oozing blubber to clean up.

Like I say…not only more interesting to look at but more worthy of our attention than that fucking cantaloupe colored cankerous lesion of a human being. And when I say human being, I mean that in the most charitable way.

Hear hear! Glad someone pointed out the artistic element in the photo, but truthfully, a photo like that simply MUST come with a sharpie!

It seems to me the slug is more handsome than, both, parasitic worms and Donnie:

Speaking of personalist parties - on the state level.

Amid the escalating border standoff between Texas and the White House over illegal immigration, misinformation has spread in China that the Lone Star state has officially declared war to secede from the US.

Popular Chinese outlets have been suggesting that events in Texas have led to deep divisions in the US widening to a point where unrest has become a stark reality.

Great job Abbott!
