President Trump’s claims of “FAKE” news surrounding reports that the Justice Department had backed down in the push for the citizenship questions on the 2020 census were a surprise to not just DOJ officials, but also members of the administration and those who back the citizenship question effort.
Working in the WH must be like being stuck in a Kafka novel and the POS’s who agreed to work for Trump deserve every second of it.
OT but members of the military must be getting really fed up with Trump. They are being forced to do things that they know are stupid (bringing tanks to a 4th July parade) and having to put up with the embarrassment associated with it.
Now even official responses in a court of law are “fake.” My god, will his worshipful followers ever acknowledge the accelerating decline of Aged Orange and get on the right side of history?
This move by Trump actually seems quite clear to me. He’s just moving the ball down the field steadily towards the goal of being totally above the law. As Josh M might say, he’s “performing dominance” over the Supreme Court, just as he’s performed dominance over the House by telling them they can piss off with their limp-wristed liberal oversight. It’s true that he hasn’t thought this move through strategically (and is probably incapable of doing so). It’s the performance that is his strong suit, though. And notice the deafening silence from congressional Rs.
I have a feeling most of them do not pay that much attention to the details of what he does. He comes to a rally, oh great, he talks nonsense, he’s their hero.
I think a lot of us are so outraged because, probably to our detriment, we follow his downward spiral too closely. I know I do.
News report on MSNBC this morning said that Trump was considering using an Executive Order to place the citizenship question on the census, in spite of the Supreme Court and federal court rulings. To which I can only say, “Please, please, please.” That would surely constitute such a flagrant violation of the Constitution/Law that even the most timid Democrat or obstinate Republican would have to vote to impeach/convict Trump. If that would not be a bridge too far, then we may as well abandon the idea of a constitutional democracy. More than likely, though, Trump is just trolling again and does not have the balls to actually to that.
