Trickle down: Oh jeez, burn the libraries, kill the scholars, shut everything down. Just bring us back – technologically – to the Gilded Age. Things were better then. Everybody knows that.

Just to state the obvious, attacks on data can make anyone vulnerable and so it can become dangerous for any of us. Just depends on how the cards fall.
