Trump wants to raid the fund for himself. Therefore all of the oversight will be canceled. The Trump family is a bottomless pit of corruption.

There is nothing more important than to figure out how, or if, the Congressional subpoena can be made meaningful again – and then do whatever needs to be done to make it happen.

Republican Senators refused to follow through on impeachment (I was going to say “evidence” but remembered they didn’t want any submitted) and SCOTUS guts Congressional oversight. This is the result.

Trump sees the pandemic as an opportunity to construct a patronage system and to destabilize the electoral process – chaos is his element.

I know it’s whistling in the wind. But somebody’s gotta step up and do the right thing. Somebody, somewhere has to be looking at the loss of their soul and say “enough”.

There’s really nothing that can be done about this now, Trump and his administration are abusing their powers and will refuse any oversight, and try to get away with everything they can. The solution is to win the presidency and Senate in November, and then institute a full scale investigation, both by the executive branch and Congress, to dig out all of the shenanigans by the Trump administration. As necessary, anything that looks illegal should be referred to the DoJ (under new leadership obviously) to bring charges. Accountability is paramount. Following this, Congress needs to pass laws that protect IGs and whistleblowers from any presidential or executive action, and other laws to keep a lawless president in check for the future, especially laws that require cooperation with investigations and limit executive privilege.

Our democracy has now seen what happens when a despot grabs power, we need to make sure he is removed and shore up the system so that the next one can’t push us over the cliff.

But this assumes that most GOP politicians aren’t sociopaths. A few aren’t. One is still a reasonably moral/ethical individual who voted for conviction in the Senate, and we all saw how his party subsequently treated him. It needs to be more than one somebody. I’m not holding my breath until Trumplethinskin is a lame duck, and then I hope he’s impeached again and quickly removed from office. Hey, I can still dream; It’s better than the nightmare we’re currently living.

I want History to see a big neon sign that says “ASSHOLE” pointing at Mango Mussolini, and I don’t see a better way to fabricate it than the kick in the ass of a second impeachment on his way out the door. Even if it doesn’t result in a conviction.

Imagine what could get done if they directed some of the energy spent on coverups and stealing to, say, managing the crisis.

Trump and the GOP are criminals on the run. Appearances and guidelines of any type are meaningless and laughable to them. They are looting the Republic and hope to flee if (when) the November election goes bad for them.

Trump will be the first president to defect. I hope they shoot his fucking escape plane out of the sky.

Yup, that’s what he’s doing. In broad daylight, while the treason party stands around whistling, looking at the ceiling and passing notes to Jared to see if they can get in on any of the relief money he’s going to hijack.

If one day we woke up and saw a row of heads stuck on the WH fenceposts we might be able to get some degree of law and order back. Short of that I’m thinking not.

Earl Devaney who was the former IG at the Interior Department and chairman of the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board is a widely respected figure in Washington. Even Daryl Issa praised his work.

You know the old philosophy question. If you could get rid of Hitler when he was born if it meant avoiding the carnage he caused later in life would you? Not that I’m advocating murder but his removal even as his tentacles and syncopates are entrenched in government would be a breath of fresh air.

There is no deed so foul that 45* wouldn’t do - and has done - to maintain power. All brought to you by Mitch McConnell.

I sure hope the next Democratic president is taking notes on how much a president can do without Congressional approval- if and when he has to fight Republicans on behalf of We The People;like a Recess Appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.
