Ex-President Donald Trump on Tuesday night ranted about Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance reportedly convening a special grand jury to consider potential criminal charges in his investigation into the Trump Organization.
Anybody who thinks this is news has not been paying attention for the last few years.
SSDD (“same shit, different day”). It’s tedious and it’s boring and it’s not going to make any difference to the outcomes. Which are looking less and less favorable to FatAss and his cronies.
Of course, prosecutors are “Highly Attracted” to “Highly Egregious” … “Highly Criminal” …activity
The only fuming I want to see from this guy is the fumes from the ashes when he implodes.
Otherwise, I don’t wanna hear about him.
He’s just miffed that he brought all this legal attention onto himself, by running for president.
Our nation has barely survived him.
He will not survive himself.
If Trump gets indicted, we should see the last batch of rats jumping ship. There won’t be any reason to tolerate "a cloud of nerves in the air.” I doubt that anyone working for Trump at this point is doing so out of a sense of loyalty.
True, although I am with Chait in that our country needs to be prepared for the prospect of an ex-President going to prison. Much as I probably won’t read that closely the coverage, that coverage will be necessary.

If Trump faces the very real prospect of going to jail, expect him to incite violence to a degree that makes 1/6 look like, well, tourists at a tea party. I’m sure the Biden DoJ will be on it.

Yes, Donnie, yes. However, unlike previous American Witch Hunts like Salem and Tailgunner Joe, this one is catching actual witches1.

Rode my ebike around the rural area where I live. Still Trump flags waving, though now they’re below the American flag rather than alone at the top of the flag pole. People have actually spruced up their Trump lawn signs for Memorial Day. There are still trucks with big Trump flags flying behind the cab driving through town. I’ve been at politics for a long time but the adoration and the need to express it publicly is stunning. Poor people, hard working people, and small business people love the guy. His prosecution will only make them even angrier and more prone to violence. Get ready.

I wonder if Trump could be bought off with a full pardon from Biden. Trump promises to go away in exchange.
There are still huge opportunities here for the Dems if they can get the messaging straight. Particularly with healthcare. Trump fought hard to take away people’s healthcare, including protection from previous conditions. Many Repubs who will be running for office did the same. They’ll fight to take away social security and Medicare next. Start the messaging now. It’s so simple that there’s little doubt they’ll complicate the hell out of it.
Considering Trump’s history of paying anyone for services rendered, this could be a make or break case for some lucky public defender.
I wonder if any of the betting venues are taking odds on whether he will be indicted or not.
