Trump Rages Against Roger Stone’s ‘Very Unfair’ Recommended Prison Sentence

Federal prosecutors recommended a prison sentence of seven to nine years for Roger Stone on Monday night for obstructing Congress’ investigation into Russian election interference.

How come none of the other side are in jail?

Wonder what kind of sentence Mangolini will ultimately receive. Or maybe he’ll wind up upside down in the piazza with his mistress du jour.

There can be little doubt once sentencing is pronounced Trump will pardon Stone.

No one will serve any time. This has ‘pardon’ written all over it. The moment he’s out, along with Flynn, they will both join the re-election campaign and all will be returned to the normal chaos.

I have one thing to say about that:

No scumbag left behind.

There are no doubt many cases where it’s wrong to punish the defendant extra for mounting a defense. This is not one of them.

Whistleblowers in government have been put on notice their complaints will lead to problems in their life. I wonder if similarly Federal prosecutors wonder, when approaching a case involving someone very close to Trump politically or socially, whether to even bother. After a string of pardons it would be natural to think many months of long hours and dedication to winning a conviction might be all for naught in the end. Which is just how Trump wants them to be thinking.

What angers me is knowing that on 1159AM on 1/20/21 Trump will issue a pardon for himself and his family. Oh and for everyone else why he will cut them loose!

Wish I could give that a million likes!

That was my take as well. I’m not sure, however, what benefit Trump could get from pardoning Stone, rather than sending a message to the rest of the henchmen. Is there a groundswell of support for Stone or Flynn? Will the base support it after Fox and Trump tell them to support a pardon?

tRump will pardon Stone otherwise tRump will be joining him in 2021.

Addressed in my second post.

Better question
Why isn’t Individual one in jail as he was an instigator or directly involved with people who were convicted.
Reason # 1 for my continuing Trump derangement syndrome

Not before November 3rd. Maybe as he packs up the White House after that, however,

Pardon in 5…4…3…2…1…

I have this mental image of Vindman, death threats on his phone and similar letters sitting on the kitchen table, seeing this on the news…

And @josephebacon makes a good point about pardons the night before he leaves office, either voluntarily or not. I can’t imagine him leaving without doing something to sow more chaos, even if it meant releasing violent criminals.

Maybe not Vindman him/themselves, but certainly their families.

The lovely part about that is, there’s other stuff that can take place under a new President.

Like the Flynn kid trial that was put off in lieu of Mike going. He doesn’t go, now the kid is on trial and gets a nice long sentence.
