Trump Pushing To Reopen U.S. Business Sector By The End Of The Month

President Donald Trump seeks to have the U.S. be back in business as early as May 1, according to the Washington Post, despite public health officials’ warnings that having Americans go back to work at this point in time will accelerate the spread of COVID-19.

By November, we should have a pretty good idea of how awful this administration was.

Over 33,000 new cases of Covid yesterday and 1900 new deaths. This guy is stupider than a sack of rocks.

The Second Wave will be the super-secret Invisible Enemy Trump had no way of anticipating.

He is worried about his businesses.

Another idiot, I bet you can find one too!

Now that there are cases spread out over the entire US, what could go wrong with having everyone return to business as usual…

Schools typically close in May.

Idiot.

So, even after May 1st the media will continue to write stories about the sick and dying. Everyone will know a person anywhere from one to six degrees of separation sick, dying or dead of the disease.

Trump thinks the public will rush back to rubbing shoulders with people on cruise ships, in restaurants, at sporting events, on factory floors, concerts, weddings, classrooms, all the venues and circumstances putting people in touching and coughing and sneezing and spitting range of each other.

Are YOU going to be enthusiastic in just three weeks to resume normal life? When dozens if not hundreds a day are still dying of the disease?

Another aspirational (Trump’s new favorite word that he learned last week) goal. Even within the article you have Short saying May 1 and Mnuchin, in essence, saying May 31. Neither will happen and the goalposts will be moved once again. With testing and treatments, maybe some stuff opens back up in the summer, but there has been little progress on either.

I think this goes beyond his businesses and is more about reelection. Trump knows that living in the White House is the only thing keeping him out of the Big House.

It’s just people’s lives at stake here… why be cautious?

Used to be parents held Chicken Pox parties. Get the whole neighborhood infected all at once, get it over with.

DeSantis just wants a big coronavirus party.

There isn’t even a economic benefit of reopening to much early. If there is a wide spread 2nd wave, then shit is going to get shut down even more than it is now.

Trump is banking on the second wave hitting after the election. The he can claim to have personally saved humanity TWICE.

“I think as soon as the President feels comfortable with the medical issues, we are making everything necessary that American companies and American workers can be open for business, and that they have the liquidity they need to operate their business in the interim,” Mnuchin said.

Trump has people tested before they walk into a room with him, and he has blocked and lied about testing for the rest of the country. He has been wrong about the science of this at every opportunity. How can he possibly make a decision?
He needs to feel threatened by this. He needs to know that any resurgence from May 1 onward will be used as a campaign issue against him. Start asking now if he is willing to take the responsibility for deaths that he causes. Ask Mnuchin if there are plans to provide financial support for the families who lose someone as a result of his ego.
And how, exactly, can he “reopen” the country? Is he going to threaten to withhold funding from states that don’t completely reopen? That part is frightening as well.

Good grief…I can’t believe some of the stupidity that must be endured first thing in the morning.

Well reopening in May is going to have that 2nd wave happen way sooner than Nov.

That’s a pretty risky bet, even for a guy who couldn’t make money on a casino.

And what would he do about the thousands of families that choose not to send their children back into that petri dish?
