About 20 years ago I was visiting my mother when a family friend mentioned that her husband, a U.S. Attorney, was nervous because, apparently, the DOJ was quietly asking U.S. Attorneys to quit.

TPM broke the story a few days later.

This was a big deal. Seems quaint now.

" Trump disregarded some of the legal protections to insulate inspectors general from political retaliation like this. He failed, for instance, to provide the required 30-days written notice to Congress with a basis for the firings. In what is likely to become a common theme of the Trump II presidency, it is not clear what the consequences might be for violating the law or who is in a position to enforce it." DK

I read that at least one of the AG’s plans to show up for work on Monday because he refuses to acknowledge Trump’s illegal firing. That could get interesting. One or more of these AG’s could sue, I should think, when they don’t receive their next paycheck.

Also, too, the House could impeach Trump for violating the law, and the Senate convict him. Ha ha.
