President Trump doubled down on his vision to make Chicago the next city his administration’s targets as it attempts to use crime as a cover for occupying and exerting control over the Democratic elected officials of blue cities and states around the nation. On Friday Trump hinted that the country’s third largest city was next…
There’s a genius to the plan that Trump has. Step one, make the police do nothing but stand around and look tough. Step two, the police are no longer arresting anybody. Step three, enjoy the new low crime rate.
Trump told reporters at the same press event Monday that his administration would soon take legal action to try to stop Newsom.
“I think I’m going to be filing a lawsuit pretty soon, and I think we’re going to be very successful in it,” he said. “We’re going to … filing it through the Department of Justice, that’s going to happen.”
Then he better include Texas in that lawsuit. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Going to be a doozy of a filing. What Federal law is being violated? The VRA?
Are there an bodies in the the Voting Rights section of DOJ?
And he’s going to file a lawsuit against the Senate blue slip.
“We’re also going to be filing a lawsuit on blue slipping. You know, blue slips make it impossible for me as president to appoint a judge or a U.S. attorney because they have a gentleman’s agreement"
He does love the word lawsuit. What an orange baboon.
Chicago neighborhoods that won’t see Nat. Guard occupation.
Englewood
W. Englewood
Auburn Gresham ( some crime lately)
Austin
Garfield Park
Maybes:
Pilsen
Little Village
Back of the Yards
Humbolt Park
I still think it’ll all be performative crap downtown, maybe the museum campus/Soldier Field etc,
Definately Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, maybe the Gold Coast.
5 Deferment Don, the hero of the Vietnam War, said we?
Now that he is in charge there are no suckers and losers in his Military.
rebranding
Republicans have the wrong priorities.
This guy is such a complete fucking douchenozzle. He’s gonna clean up Chicago in a week, just like he ended the Ukraine war in one day, built the wall, brought down gas and egg prices, replaced Obamacare, and other complete bullshit claims ad infinitum.
I can’t think of enough nasty things to say about him.
I don’t know Chicago, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the troops are positioned in such a way that they make the best picture, because all of this is performative. Actually placing troops someplace where they might encounter actual crime is a significant risk, and I don’t think any of these national guard commanders are going to do that. What they want is to get good pictures for the president, so that is where they will deploy the troops.
I believe that is how it is happening in Washington DC, for the most part, although I would encourage and welcome DC residents to correct me if I’m wrong.
"We go in, we will solve Chicago within one week, maybe less,” Trump told reporters Monday morning. “But within one week we’ll have no crime in Chicago, like no crime in D.C.”
… … … … … …
He said it. Hold him to his lies.
Now his time frame is one instead of two weeks. I wonder what the hurryup is.
Trump is acting like a rabid dog - all he needs to do to confirm his case of rabies is to slobber at bit more.
Seriously, this guy needs to be locked up and isolated from society, before he does more harm.
This is not what the country voted for.
BTW, saw an analysis today that showed that few, if any, Biden voters switched to Trump in 2024, rather 6M of them did not show up to support Harris -despite Biden’s gracious ask that they do so.
In addition a number of voters who could not bother to vote in 2020, came out for Trump in 2024. These unengaged rando voters are why we are facing this ridiculous crisis in governance.
You forgot Ukrainian Village.
The GOP put considerable effort in digging them out of the wood work.
If you haven’t seen JB Pritzker’s response to Trump’s threat to send troop’s into Chicago, it is worth a listen.
He makes some very good points but the new one for me was his observation that the pendulum swings both ways and that he is going to make sure justice prevails and Trump’s minions are held accountable for any laws they break while serving Trump. Every Democratic office holder would be wise to make the same pledge.
Well, the standard test for rabies . . .
