Remember that in early 2020 trump denied there was covid in the US. Then he denied there was a pandemic. Then when hundreds of people were dying daily he denied any responsibility. By the end of his term 800,000 Americans were dead. To call him heartless is the grossest of understatements

This whole cadre of Republicans and their fellow travelers are absolutely indistinguishable from Hitler and his Nazi’s.

The Russians also celebrated when Trump killed USAID. On February 7, as the agency’s DC office was being dismantled, a Russian foreign ministry spokesperson said:
“The only thing we take a certain satisfaction from is that everything we said turned out to be true. It is anything but an aid, development and assistance agency. It is a machine for interfering in internal affairs, it is a mechanism for changing regimes, political order, state structure .”

Malfeasance, misfeasance and nonfeasance. Every one of them should have the opportunity of a trial where they explain that they were just following orders.

Am I a bad person because I read the title of the article on the TPM home page, “Trump Officials Celebrated With Cake After Slashing Aid. Then People Died of Cholera,” as indicating that it was the Trump officials who slashed the aid who died of cholera? Was it a case of wishful thinking? Was it somewhat justified because of their lack of humanity?

“Let us eat cake” is, at least, more honest than “Let them eat cake”–any care for “them” is beyond comprehension for this administration.
