I know the law and the rules and all that are against them being able to do this, but then again, we have minimal courts or Congress to stop him.

Some of the States have already passed accommodating rules to their requests, but there is the basic truth out there that much of what they want to do will hurt their own voters rather than the general population.

If they are unable to pull this off and we have a blue tsunami in the midterms, what’s to say the Dems that would be in charge would write this all off as an idle threat and do nothing to prevent its happening again?

Of course, Republicans want trump to rig the midterms.
They fear for their jobs – best thing that ever happened to these losers – and they fear for losing speakership of the House. Losing the House will be the beginning of the end for trump. Their laundrymen have been put on the alert for soiled underwear.

Multiple activists left the meeting convinced iTrump should do the latter, a step they believe would allow the president to get around the Constitution’s directive that elections should be run by states.

Pro Publica should have said “violate”. I would expect the New York Times to say “get around”, not Pro Publica.

Re: voting machines.

They are not. They are counting machines, made to count blackened circles on paper ballots and tally the data. The paper ballots can, and have often been, recounted.

Voting machines are different. There’s no paper ballot. People vote on the machine. These were tried and shown to be hackable some years ago.

Do the detractors somehow remember the kerfuffle over these non-paper (and non-recountable) machines? Are they ignorant or stupid or opportunist? Take your pick.
