President Donald Trump took a dig at Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Monday morning after the Utah lawmaker marched in a Black Lives Matter protest with evangelical Christians in Washington, D.C. against police brutality on Sunday.
Says the guy utterly unconcerned that his own numbers are "tank"ing as we speak. Been following 538, fuckface? This one Morning Consult poll had you at 36 to 59! If you’re confused about statistics let me Demsplain for you, that’s bad! Oh, and did you see Mitt was marching with a thousand of his evangelical friends? That’s bad for you too! Glad we could have this talk!
Romney strikes me as a guy that really tries to do the right thing and does have some very deeply held moral principles and beliefs. He’s also a corporate robber baron and you can say a lot of things about the Mormon church and I vehemently disagree with him on probably hundreds of points.
But at the very least, he seems to be trying – at times – to be a good human being. What a reflection on the Republican party of today that just that seems to make him stand out so much.
Clearly a better ‘guy’ than you…at least he shows he cares about the United States as opposed to only caring about yourself…but you wouldn’t understand that now would you Donnie?
“Once Twitter applied its rules to Trump—and received accolades for its decision—it inadvertently set a precedent. The company had stood strong against the bully, and showed that there was little price to pay for the choice. A large swath of S&P 500 companies soon calculated that it was better to stand in solidarity with the protests, rather than wait for their employees to angrily pressure them to act.”
And not that everything should be political, but just another example at how damn stupid Trump is with Twitter:
make fun of Romney for attending a BLM march.
show indirectly that you don’t support even the concept of BLM yet again (your racist base is already with you, but you’re cutting whatever thread exists with your suburban, college-educated white supporters).
give media excuse to amplify this, including fact that other evangelicals were there (see #2 and part of your coalition having more second-thoughts).
elevate the standing of the guy you had a personal beef with anyway instead of just ignoring him
one more day of no chance of shifting talk to the “great” economy, you’re only hope
