The creepiness factor of this invitation is thru the roof, they probably suggested a dress code in an appendix

Someone should remind Gaetz that Britney is not 17 anymore.

I’m sure this sleazebag just wants to “help” Britney in his own special way.

Ewwwwww.

Gaetz wrote to Spears that he and other Republican lawmakers acknowledge that she has been “mistreated by America’s legal system.”

“Your life, liberty, and happiness have been taken from you,” Gaetz wrote. “Please take advantage of the empowerment that public congressional testimony can unlock.”

I’m touched by this GOP concern over those “mistreated by America’s legal system”.

And to offer a Congressional platform for those whose “life and liberty has been taken from them”.

Tens of millions of POC would love to take you up on that offer!

Britney Spears is about 20 years too old for Gaetz.

There’s something else going on with this, because there is no way that Republicans actually care about Spears and what she is going through. I’m not plugged in enough to understand how Spears has been wrapped up into the whole Q conspiracy nonsense, but odds are her being stuck in a legal limbo (and apparently treated very poorly by her father) is being used to undermine the judicial system in some way. And, just in time for all of the court cases coming down the pike that will convict hundreds of insurrectionists…what better time to attack the judicial system using poor Britney.

I feel complete sympathy for her, it sounds like her father has been a total dick in dominating her life for a decade and she really should be released, but that has nothing to do with Republican policies. I just don’t trust these people…they are just going to abuse her for their own ends instead of for money like her dad is.

After all these years, you would think Britney would know when she’s being used.
Britney! You think Timberlake was bad? He’s a piker compared to these scum.

When the devil holds out his hand with an offer of help, you better believe that it isn’t in your best interest to grab it.

What is happening to Ms. Spears is evil, but it’s not as evil as child rape.

I was going to say a couple of years ago - it turns out it was 2017.

Very frustrating & scary article about how elderly people can be robbed and abused in a similar way, in many states. The state appoints a guardian, before long the home is sold and the money goes away …

Matt Gaetz is one sick and twisted idiot. This is frickin’ creepy.

Well since they’re the same age, I’d say Matt’s is preference is about 25 years younger then either of them.

In the 80’s a number of conservatives had a freak out when a number of Hollywood actors and actresses testified before congress about the farm crisis. Like the former actor who was president back then they have amnesia about using a celebrity for an important issue.

Don’t take the bait from these uncaring opportunists, Ms. Spears. Guardianship/Conservatorship is real and many vulnerable persons are taken advantage by a lousy probate/family court system where your rights can be lost indefinitely without much concrete evidence (hearsay). A system devised by fascist kafkaesque players, fits right into the GQP mindset if you ask me. Gaetz wouldn’t know court reform if it bit him on the syphlitic balls.

Pure attempt at exploitation, pulling votes from her faithful as they hold her skirt hem. If it doesn’t work, it will be Britney Who? in an instant.
