Typical, just typical of trump to try to steal the accomplishment of someone else, especially if that someone else happens to be Obama. Yes he did adjust the wait times for the VA but trump did none of the dickering or negotiating to make the bill bipartisan.

C’mon Nicole. Trump wasn’t arguing that he expanded or reinforced the program; he claimed that he “got the CHOICE program approved.” That’s clearly false, and there’s no room for fairness in yet another lie.
To be fair, this was a double whammy for Trump: the program was sponsored by McCain and signed by Obama, two of his all-time favorites. What could he do but simply ignore them and – yet again – rewrite history?

This. He’s so legislatively incompetent and incurious that — apart from the occasional headline grabber that makes him feel important, like banning immigrants — he has no idea what he’s signing. 99% of the executive branch’s agenda is set by unelected advisors who consider him a useful idiot.

If you follow Daniel Dale you learn the interesting fact that this isn’t the first time. He takes credit for this all the time. I think I’ve read about his having claimed it maybe a dozen times. If veterans come up, and they do, he just reflexively says this.

I’m so shocked that Trump lied by taking credit for something Obama did for veterans that I expect someone to bring my winnings to me any moment now…
The sad thing is a lot of people will be fooled by this, as they have been propagandized into thinking that Democrats hate the military.

That’s because it’s an easy concept for him to hold on to in her adderalled brain. CHOICE is not a concept Trump would normally advance, but it’s a word he can understand and mispronounce in that New York City way.

I can tell you from experience: my son in law’s dad is retired military. Told me on Christmas Day that there may be some in the ranks that support Trump, but the officers can’t stand him. I don’t think the military hates the Dems nor that the Dems hate the military. He says Military Times, the military news organ, is regularly in opposition of the Pres.
