President Donald Trump alluded Tuesday that he would welcome retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn back into his administration now that the former national security adviser’s three-year legal battle over lying to the FBI during the Russia probe is close to evaporating.
I can’t wait to hear Pence’s response to the question, “Do you agree with the President that there’s a role in the administration for a man the President sacked for lying to you?”
Donnie should renew Flynn’s contacts with the Turks and the Russians while he’s at it.
Hell, the man’s gotta make a living. That’s not something he can do on a civil service salary.
This is Trump’s idea of a stand-up guy: a person who will lie to the FBI for you and not tell the prosecutors it was your fucking idea to play footsie with the Russians.
It’s all relative. When Trumpty Dumpty refers to you as a gentleman, you must really be one hell of an asshole. What does a serial adulterer who used to run around with Epstein and bragged about “grabbing them by the pussy” know about being a gentleman? The asswipe steals infants from their mothers and cages children. He likes authoritarians that are ruthless murderers. Yeah, to his moral standards, Pol Pot must’ve been a real gentleman.
The Pentagon conducted a command-level investigation into the allegations, looking for evidence to substantiate the claims about Vindman’s conduct while he was detailed to the NSC, the people familiar with the document said. But ultimately the military could not corroborate any of the accusations, the people familiar with it said. Included in the list was an accusation that Vindman had verbally abused a colleague, a senior administration official said.
The list of allegations suggests that the White House tried to derail the promotion of an Army officer the president said he wasn’t “happy” with and viewed as disloyal. It could also suggest White House retaliation against Vindman for his impeachment testimony went beyond ousting him, and his twin brother, from the NSC in February, before their time was up.
When Herridge asked the President if he would consider taking Flynn back at the White House, Trump replied, “I would, I think he’s a great gentleman. Plus, it would be such an asset to have a National Security Advisor who I know will lie to me & the VP about, you know, National Security issues & stuff, because him being an unregistered foreign agent, I wouldn’t know where his priorities lie"
He was fired for lying, but now that he’s given contradictory testimony that proves he committed perjury one way or the other the White House would be happy to have him back.
Who better to have on staff than a guy who can swear up and down to a judge, repeatedly, that’s definitely guilty and definitely knows he did wrong and definitely wasn’t coerced into saying these things and can still get off scot-free? All hail the Teflon general! A man happy to arrange illegal kidnappings inside the US for money given wide authority and unleashed by Trump to battle his political enemies—sounds about right.
