Former President Trump jabbed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) decision to yank all five of his GOP picks for the Jan. 6 Select Committee last year.
Ummm, who told him to do it? Because I’m thinking that guy is the bigger fool.
ETA: This is honestly the most hilarious thing in the world. We all know McCarthy was doing Trump’s bidding when he pulled his people from the Committee and yet here’s Trump throwing McCarthy directly under that bus and then running him over. When will they learn that nothing is ever enough. There’s no amount of complimenting and appeasing that will ever be enough to save them from his wrath.
I tell ya, I have a strong feeling they’re not gonna pick up either chamber. That said, should they pick up enough votes in the House, I won’t be a bit surprised if Trump throws such a big ass monkey wrench in the whole thing that a Democrat winds up with the gavel.
What Josh calls “a dignity wraith”–e.g., “whatever dignity you thought you had, Trump will suck out every bit of it as if it were marrow from your bones.”
That’s what I believe. And I’m working like hell to help bring that about.
Nah, that’s an actual job involving the herding of cats. One thing Trump doesn’t do is work hard at something. He has minions for that.
It’s also not a peer position with the guy who trounced him in the 2020 election. If he goes up against Biden again, it will be for Prez on an equal footing, not a lowly job like Speaker where Biden can shut down foolish legislation with a veto pen. Trump doesn’t do second banana.
But why does that get him treated like a big shot? Back up a decade or two and he didn’t treated like that back here in NY: he was a jerk to everyone back here. But since the Republicans capitulated and allowed him on the world stage, he’s become a real thing. Even the press has turned reverential. I read of Trump’s candidates and Trump’s wins.
Why don’t they call a spade a spade? It’s the triumph of ignorance pure and simple and has not very much at all to do with Trump himself. He’s just a convenient figurehead.
Not so long ago, we had studies and discussion of the triumph of mediocrity. Oh how far we’ve come from that. The sociologists and cultural historians knew a long time ago that the dumbing down of America would have a cost. And now we’re paying it.
You really shouldn’t try to scare the adults that way, lol. Or perhaps you should, it’s motivational.
I really do think we should campaign heavily on the fact that the fascistgop is committed to the destruction of democracy and is vocal about their willingness to use violence to achieve that end. Plenty of examples in their rhetoric and deeds.
