Trump Justifies Blocking Sondland’s Testimony: Impeachment Inquiry Is ‘Kangaroo Court’ | Talking Points Memo

sending it to SCOTUS immediately would certainly give us a look at how roberts intends to conduct the senate’s impeachment ‘trial’. will it be legit and constitutional or will it be a ‘kangaroo court’?

Yes, although I might even say “fails to”!

Trump believes that Sondlund can’t possibly lie as effectively as he himself can.

Trump claims this isn’t an impeachment inquiry since there wasn’t a vote of the whole house, and Democrats are keeping Republican congress critters at arms length.

When Sondland texted (not tweeted, you moron), “I believe you are incorrect about President Trump’s intentions. The President has been crystal clear: no quid pro quo’s of any kind,” it read more like “Raymond Shaw is the kindest , bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.”

With the look on the face of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Army General Mark Milley, I’d love to know what he really thinks!

Why didn’t Hillary use the “kangaroo court” reasoning to dodge Nunes and Company?

They’re right. Trump doing something that is bat shit crazy is nothing out of the ordinary. The problem is that they’re good with it.

Which is a bullshit argument, just done to delay. There is no constitutional or house requirement that the House has to vote on it first.

As for keeping the Repubs at arms length? Oh yeah they were really welcoming when they had control of the House and Senate…god i fucking hate Republicans (liars, crooks, hypocrites)

Sorry, I’m done venting for now, just needed to get that out there

‘Kangaroo Court’ isn’t exactly a legal term. I hope Sondland doesn’t think he’s in the clear.

Thing 1:
Extortionist-in-Chief is projecting on kangaroo court…
Hands down, he clearly made SC a kangaroo court with Kavbeernaugh

Thing 2:
Solicitation = “I need a favor though’ is unlawful per U.S. Code § 30121,
No Qui pro quo needed, it is an additional crime!

Thing 3:

Trump, in his tweets, implied the order had come from him.

Means more IMPEACHINESS = Obstruction of Congress

Because she didn’t have to. I remember her eating those morons alive in her testimony.

A short and non-exclusive list of reasons:

  1. She had nothing to be afraid of: truth sufficed.

  2. Her “judges” were obviously idiots.

  3. Had she tried something so craven, Obama would have skinned her alive.

That said, it is quite possible that she was fatally damaged by the whole episode. Perhaps it could have been handled better.

So, more self-impeachment, yes?

So the covert “call me” guy now moves on to overt obstruction in the service of the great and with unmatched wisdom Trump.

Democrats can’t let this go. And I hope it doesn’t end well for Sondland.

It’s the new ‘normal.’

What a shit show

And btw.

So, confirmation that Trump is now directly implicated. No wonder Sondland wasn’t allowed to testify.
