Trump Judge Won’t Block White House Order That Could Inject Chaos and Disenfranchisement into Midterms

A Trump-appointed federal judge ruled early Thursday morning that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and civil rights groups lack standing to block an executive order that seeks to create a federal voter list and restrict mail-in voting.  “Given that the Executive Order does not command Plaintiffs to do anything, and that no agency has yet…

As many others have said on these forums and elsewhere, our only hope may be to have a blue wave election big enough that these election tampering shenanigans don’t matter. Sigh…

On another note, $250 is an expensive sheet of toilet paper, but I feel like it’s a sacrifice I could make.

Same stuff, different day.

And yet multiple Federal judges had no problem blocking this.

They’ve not had this exact order to contend with, and standing is often an issue with his EOs in a 3-branch system with 2 of them on life support. With multiple cases brought in multiple jurisdictions one or more are likely to find standing, but that’s part of DT’s litigation game - delay, whether by legal maneuvers or, as here, based on judicial dysfunction, until it’s too late to do anything.

It seems as though this is a pretty easy call at the state and local tiers of government. Just ignore the order because it is clearly unconstitutional at a basic level.

I prefer two-ply, which is $500 a sheet. Bit rich for my salary.

That may be why they suggested and subsequently abandoned the idea of a $2.50 note. Too affordable to too many.

In a fascinating article in the London Review of Books, the point is made repeatedly that $100 bills have almost no use other than money laundering:

‘What non-criminals would honestly be inconvenienced if the largest US banknote was a $20 bill?’ he asks. ‘Would fascism really return to Germany if the €200, €100 and €50 banknotes were retired?’ Bear in mind that 80 per cent of the value of US currency is in $100 bills, and 70 per cent of those are held overseas… ‘untraceable, untaxable income in the hands of criminals is the new lingua franca of organised crime. The link between Medellín and Moscow is the $100 bill.’

No wonder that a $250 bill would feature one of the largest money launderers of all time. And let’s put Reagan on the $500 bill, so no one forgets who started this mess.

Thanks for that link. Fascinating. I had no idea.

The path to victory will have its twist and turns. The admin is stupid but its cult is rabid and violent. The stupid means we do not lose but the rabid are chaos agents. We must prepare ourselves and our communities to take the incoming hits and fight harder.
