Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday joined MAGA House Republicans who are using his indictment in Manhattan to push for Congress to “defund” federal law enforcement.
Defund the Bureau of Prisons!
Just out of curiosity, I want Republicans to shutdown the government or default on the debt in order to get the Feds off Trumps ass.
I am curious about three things
a) Will it work
b) Will the media do the both sides thing
c) Will the Republicans loose a meaningful number of votes over it
My guess is
a) Yes
b) Yes
c) No
The important differences here are:
Whether this results in an even more brutal form of policing that is essentially a “royal guard” for the upper class depends only on how many times the GOP puts that on their Christmas list.
The slogan which was used to cost Democrats dearly will be met with a big “meh,” in 2024.
This is a great idea, no police to arrest him when he shoots someone on Fifth Avenue. And trying to keep it clean, I’ll just say he’s a jerk. But let’s have a giggle about his misfortunes and realize what a big fat target he is for satirizing from the hair to the paunch.
I’m trying to have a good day knowing that two Democrats were elected in two important races in Chicago and in Wisconsin, and I’m going to concentrate on that rather than speculating about what vengeful GOOPs may or may not do.
This concept goes side-by-side with the GOP strategy of breaking government, then saying it’s broken and therefore should not be funded.
This is just more proof that to be a Republican in 2023 you must have two sets of morals and standards, one for yourself and another for everyone else.
I mean it is fine for police to murder a person with dark skin for no reason, but writing you a parking ticket should be a crime.

As if there was any remaining doubt the GOP has no real values anymore. They cannot possibly claim to be the party of law and order if the scream “DEFUND THE POLICE”!!! and then enthusiastically vote for a twice impeached and criminally indicted potential criminal. And it was only the first indictment of at minimum two more that could be handed to trump in coming days…
It’s simple and self-evident. Power hungry fascists will embrace any idea to remain in power.
Defund the prosecutors, defund the judges, defund the K-9 patrols. Fund jack-booted white christian nationalist thugs. Legalize fraudulent accounting and tax evasion.
