He is not alone, these people will back him to keep their jobs. Trump supporters back Trump, there can be no doubt about that. It is all about self interest, they will use each other.

Perversely, the only symptoms I have are those caused be the chemo. MRIs don’t lie though. Just competed my 28th month of chemo. TPM is a lifesaver for me; it focuses my attention, often makes me laugh, and typically doesn’t add to my stress anymore–and if it does, there are always kitten videos.

And therein lies the problem: publicly elected officials and self-proclaimed public servants who “agonize in private”. Of course, they then barter with their consciences in private and make trade-offs that betray the public good. It’s the Susan Collins model of leadership. Man, we need a better breed of human being to step forward for political office at every level of governance.

Technically accurate—but since they protect and enable Trump and the Cult, they are just as guilty of cult behavior as the most rabid Trumpster.
