Trump Is Slow Rolling A COVID-19 Emergency Declaration For The Worst Possible Reasons | Talking Points Memo

son-in-law Jared Kushner would have the final say after conducting research.

He needs to get to reading all those books right quick.

Can’t a state of emergency be declared for only red states? That would be a win-win: more money pumped into Spanky territory, and more dead Democrats everywhere else. C’mon Jared, you know you want to do it.

I haven’t had enough coffee yet–just got up–to be able to express my fear and contempt. Just wish this fool could take down himself and his MAGAts and leave the rest of us in peace.
When I got to work last night the double entrance doors were covered with notices restricting visiting, with a hand-sanitizer pump doing sentry duty. We now have to fill out a form every shift regarding exposure and symptoms. And for some damn-fool reason, the first question is about travel to China, even thought there are already half-a-dozen cases in Indiana, one in Noble County, which is the next county east.
Damn fools are going to get us all killed.

Jared is busy looking for a safe place under his bed.

These people are so over their heads that it’s criminal.

We’ve reached a point where the guy in a position to save us from a deadly global pandemic…

Publicly claims windmill noise causes cancer.

I keep waiting for Allen Funt to jump out and yell, “Smile!”

All over the Nation this kind of thing is happening. Are we in a national crisis yet, I wonder?

Why hasn’t anyone told Trump that his Grandfather died of the Spanish Flu, thus an outbreak of “flu” is not to be sneezed at. And maybe just remind him that his “good” genes aren’t that good since his grandfather reproduced and then died.

“The Washington Post reported on Monday that Trump was still considering declaring an emergency under the 1988 Stafford Act, but it’s not clear if and when that will take place or the geographic scope the declaration would cover.”

Because he hasn’t figured out how to profit off it yet.

“son-in-law Jared Kushner would have the final say after conducting research.”

The profit angle is Jared’s assignment.

And Trump has wasted all that money on something that didn’t protect us at all.

By not declaring national emergency as Covid-19 has been declared a PANDEMIC, the Trump Regime is playing Russian Roulette with our lives!

The Covid-19 spread and deaths are NOT a new hoax nor is it is less important than the stock market, big oil, hotel industry and all other industries that are affected!

Update from Politico:
Apparently, the non-scientific SIL is holding up the decision…

There’s no deadline for a decision, but one of the people familiar with the talks said the task force will not give Trump its final verdict until Jared Kushner, the president’s senior adviser and son-in-law, finishes his research and comes to a conclusion himself.

One of my brothers, who lives in a Boston suburb, called to make sure I was going to stay safe through this. But he said that a middle schooler in his daughter’s school district has tested positive, and a boy in her high school was taken by ambulance to a hospital from school today.

Back at you, bro.

President Obama declared the virus – known as swine flu – a national emergency in October 2009.

True. But his administration declared it in April 2009.

Shithead is also opposed to the idea because, as of right now, the hardest hit states are blue. He called WA’s gov Inslee a “snake”. He hates CA’s Newsom because he wasn’t properly thankful after Shithead flew all the way out there to suggest they rake their forest floors in the midst of numerous out of control fires. And NY’s Cuomo, well he’s so bad that Shithead had to pull up stakes and move to Florida. So there, blue states!

Now, once it starts hitting Bumblefuck, WV and AsslessChaps, WY, he’ll start to take it more seriously because it’ll be killing his voters.

Oh, there’s no guessing there, he’ll blame any/everyone–but himself–and his political opponents for sure: Obama, Hillary, liberals, immigrants, LGBTQ+*s, POCs, non-xtians, women, and/or anyone else, in turn, as needed.

In my opinion, the important question will be who will American voters blame?

The Politico report suggested also that there was “no deadline” for a decision on the declaration, and that Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner would have the final say after conducting research.

Sure, right after he gets that Israeli-Palestinian thing sorted out.

Remind me again what office Mr. Kushner holds?

What the actual fuck?

Trump has less leadership skill than a serial drooler making tin foil hats in a padded room that has door with a porthole.
