I think Swalwell is right. I saw a week ago that Thom Tillis was told by the FBI about threats against him and his family if he failed to vote for Hegseth - Tillis was the final required vote. The amount of mob behavior from town halls to Congress is appalling. Someone is going to get killed.

I immediately thought of carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause. Nothing else fits.

I agree that anyone gets dumped as soon as they aren’t useful, but tight with his pardons? Maybe somewhat in his first go round, but not this time.

In fact, the amount of fentanyl seized at the Canada-US border is hardly impressive: 19.5 kilograms were seized by US border agents between October 2023 and September 2024,

So Trade war with Canada over less than one family size Thanksgiving Turkey amount of fentanyl in an entire years time

Too bad us TPM folks (me included) seemed to fall in love with a slate of somewhat appealing D candidates, when all they had to do was get a better slogan,a little too rough for some, like “F**ck trump.” You know simple. Btw, where are our passionate leaders… has the press covered anything Kamala has to say other than “turn the page” when half of the voting public knows not what a page is or what it is used for? Oh well, the opportunity has forever passed….

He pardoned the J6 people because he needs his personal army of jack-booted thugs. Beyond that, who has he pardoned? He left a whole lot of people that did his bidding hanging out to dry.

The SSA may reach the point where it can barely function at all. The backlash will be seismic.

The Conversation is a great film. It also features a performance by John Cazale; it is one of his five films, all of which were nominated for Best Picture.

I saw that too, and threats or actual violence are unacceptable. But for crying out loud, elected representatives have to take a stand. It’s their job.

Not to be flippant, but when one chooses to run for a gov’t office to represent a group of constituents then you’re suppose to be working for them, and not the mob boss wannabe. JFC! With this attitude we might as well ask Great Britain to make us a colony again.
It seems you chose poorly when you decided to fall inline.

Nah, Romania is just returning our criminals back to us. I am betting this was a deal of some sort that may or may not be revealed in its entirety later.

With MM on “The Conversation.” A chilling, powerful performance.

But the great thing about Gene Hackman is you don’t have to pick one. He was usually great in EVERYTHING. Even movies that didn’t deserve it. He was a working actor – like Michael Caine – and he left acting on his own terms.
