Brooklyn federal prosecutors filed charges against Trump adviser and chair of the former president’s 2017 inauguration committee Tom Barrack on Tuesday over an alleged scheme to curry influence on behalf of an Emirati prince.

There is a difference to being the unwitting recipient of influence and an equal partner. So once again, Trump co-conspirator or useful idjit?
Sure are making it hard for any future admin to top the corruption record being left behind by drump.

Seriously, the first thing I thought when reading this was that people who don’t pay attention to the news are going to think, “oh, Barack Obama got indicted?”
Judging by the foliage he’s probably a fern agent as well.
FARA violations, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, material false statements. But I’ll bet he led an otherwise blameless life.

Indicted in Brooklyn and arrested in LA. That’ll be a long flight, and I doubt he’s getting out today. May they schedule the bail hearing for next week.
ETA: they did schedule the hearing for next week, but in LA. He stays in jail until at least Monday, and the Monday hearing is just for terms of release for transport to Brooklyn.

We can lighten this load of charges if you give us a full accounting of all that inauguration cash and the degree that Trump was directly calling the shots and how much ole’ Allen, Trump’s accountant was involved. You have to come totally clean. Because you have not been in the past. If you lie now, you can kiss your freedom goodbye.
