Their case is already fully built.

Just like the GQP acquittal is already fully baked in.

Let’s pile on. Trump’s lawyers did a poor job, but Trump hasn’t? Fox network supported these lies, perpetuated these lies, and gave credence to much of the nonsense. So, let’s try a different tack with FOX:

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Tuesday night joined a barrage of conservatives slamming the opening day performance of Trump impeachment defense lawyer Bruce Castor.

Republicans in disarray!

Rep. Tlaib:

“impeach the motherfucker”

Oh! I just realized that @tena must be a sock puppet of Rep. Tlaib here on these boards. :grinning:

To me it is well beyond any reason or logic that trump would be thought innocent by these GOP senators.
trump basically said. “go there, do this…fight like hell to get the election overturned”. How can they not see this? Why are they so fearful of trump?

They don’t think that at all. They just think inciting violent insurrection aimed at ending democracy is fine.

Actually, it’s the reverse. Tena runs the whole network from here, including Rep. Tlaib, and [we don’t discuss what she runs through castor_troy … just note that the beer fund is the only accurate part that he’s posted].

Then we are in serious trouble as a country.

Yes, we are.

ETA: Let me expand on that a little bit.

The GOP no longer has any coherent policies or beliefs other than acquiring authoritarian political power for itself, its donors, and its voters (in that order) and pwning the libs. They can probably round up majority support among the pols on tax cuts and abortion, but that’s about it, and it is increasingly problematic even for those two issues. Literally everything else is about strangling democracy and punching libtards.

And they have a fully reliable 45% of the vote in any national election.

It’s a conundrum then. End democracy you end voting which takes away their fancy milk train federal jobs. No more health care or free golf. No more lunches in the Capitol cafeteria. Just an all powerful executive branch and screw everybody else.

Uh-oh…some last minute changes are in the works for Team T****…

“All Dad’s lawyers talked about yesterday was the effing Constitution!” he said. “It was effing boring! No one cares about that bullshit!”

The one X factor is the public. How does this poll right now?

56% of the those polled are for conviction. the other 44% are split between no and ‘don’t know’.

Somehow in these polarized times 56% is referred to as a ‘narrow majority’ by ABC news

People get to vote in Russia. Even if they get their way, their jobs will be perfectly safe as long as they don’t cross whoever their strongman leader is at any given time. And the political power has monetary value to them that goes far beyond their salaries and health care.

ETA: And I should add that pretty much every prospective GOP presidential candidate plainly wants to be that strongman. Cruz, Hawley, Cotton, multiple Trumps . . . and nobody who isn’t running as the authoritarian strongman has any chance of emerging as the nominee.

That’s a very disturbing place to end up, but there’s just no way that any of the Senators or Congresscritters could not know exactly what happened on Jan 6th. They were there.

Wait – there’s a beer fund?

And they’re fine with it.

That’s bullshit by ABC

First of all, 56% usually does NOT mean 44% opposed…there are plenty of categories other than “opposed” to fill in the remainder to 100%

Second, these fuckers know that.
