House Democratic impeachment managers will continue laying out their case against former President Trump on Wednesday during the second day of the impeachment trial.
Letâs pile on. Trumpâs lawyers did a poor job, but Trump hasnât? Fox network supported these lies, perpetuated these lies, and gave credence to much of the nonsense. So, letâs try a different tack with FOX:
Fox Newsâ Laura Ingraham on Tuesday night joined a barrage of conservatives slamming the opening day performance of Trump impeachment defense lawyer Bruce Castor.
To me it is well beyond any reason or logic that trump would be thought innocent by these GOP senators.
trump basically said. âgo there, do thisâŚfight like hell to get the election overturnedâ. How can they not see this? Why are they so fearful of trump?
Actually, itâs the reverse. Tena runs the whole network from here, including Rep. Tlaib, and [we donât discuss what she runs through castor_troy ⌠just note that the beer fund is the only accurate part that heâs posted].
The GOP no longer has any coherent policies or beliefs other than acquiring authoritarian political power for itself, its donors, and its voters (in that order) and pwning the libs. They can probably round up majority support among the pols on tax cuts and abortion, but thatâs about it, and it is increasingly problematic even for those two issues. Literally everything else is about strangling democracy and punching libtards.
And they have a fully reliable 45% of the vote in any national election.
Itâs a conundrum then. End democracy you end voting which takes away their fancy milk train federal jobs. No more health care or free golf. No more lunches in the Capitol cafeteria. Just an all powerful executive branch and screw everybody else.
People get to vote in Russia. Even if they get their way, their jobs will be perfectly safe as long as they donât cross whoever their strongman leader is at any given time. And the political power has monetary value to them that goes far beyond their salaries and health care.
ETA: And I should add that pretty much every prospective GOP presidential candidate plainly wants to be that strongman. Cruz, Hawley, Cotton, multiple Trumps . . . and nobody who isnât running as the authoritarian strongman has any chance of emerging as the nominee.
Thatâs a very disturbing place to end up, but thereâs just no way that any of the Senators or Congresscritters could not know exactly what happened on Jan 6th. They were there.
