“It’s like a Seinfeld episode: no story arc, but instead a flat line with no growth or discovery.”
Well said, DK. And now the blast wave, so to speak, of Trumpism, appears to be extending to the entire world. If Saudi oil basically goes offline for an extended time, well, then, as my old JV football coach used to say, it’s Katy-bar-the-door.
I’m reminded again of an anecdote shared by Michael Herr in his great book on the war in Vietnam, Dispatches. The Marines up by the DMV, at Con Thien, were being shelled mercilessly by the NVA. Inside one bunker guys were starting to break down, crying, screaming, when one dude shouted, “Don’t worry baby, God’ll think of something!”
I said a couple weeks ago, Carney is now the leader of the free world. Canada can maintain this great leap in global standing if they keep electing smart folks.
No further evidence is required that the Klown Kar in DC is aligned with Putin. The world has been re-ordered. Poopy pants is going to try to burn it all down. Even Vlad will eventually have to put the brakes on him, but it will be too late.
I don’t know about Flock but I’m all in for traffic cameras. They save lives and keep drivers from being assholes. The problem is, we live in cities where anonymity is desired. Meanwhile, those people razing the cameras are being filmed up to two hundred times daily while walking.
What a silly and otherwise avoidable clusterfuck this is. And what a great example of the dangers of oligarchy and monopoly that we’ve allowed to fester.
You’re really asking for it if you’re conducting whistleblower reporting on LinkedIn. That’s what Signal and Proton Mail are for. At least LinkedIn is fighting it.
Aye that seems increasingly likely more’s the pity: The firehouse of lies has become the tsunami of corruption. Somehow we must hope that someone (more likely someones) is keeping track but the hope feels increasingly unfounded yet somehow this era of power abuse and lack of accountability for those abusing it must end, it simply must and for reasons far greater than mere retribution, for the very spirit of a nation 'lest this abuse become normalized and we all somehow share in the shame of that decline.
