You could also say he cut that “event” short because he doesn’t give two shits about that particular audience, which were largely paid to be there.
And one nit to pick. From the article: “The remarks were delivered to a crowd of largely masked.” Depends on your definition of “largely,” I guess, but that’s not what I saw watching it.

Obviously, they’re not serious because all they have to offer is white supremacy and abject racism. It’s nothing more than an effort to discourage black people from voting, as they did in 2016.

Another thing that surprised me was the uniforms the audience was wearing. Those blue shirts and red caps. When you’re making a campaign speech, a normal politician would want a crowd that at least plausibly looks like a cross-section of American voters.
An audience of mostly POC wearing what amounted to a uniform and cheering Trump up on the balcony, with his all-white security staff walking around the perimeter in their suits and dark sunglasses just looks weird. What’s the message? All you other POC out there, better get in line or else?
