President Trump is scheduled to hold a press conference at the White House at 5:30 p.m. ET. The President has continued his bashing spree against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s newly announced VP pick Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), which included calling her a “dangerous choice” and reviving his racist appeal to suburban voters as a campaign tactic.

It was okay. The hour delay was very bad, and of course there’s no electricity in an empty room. Doesn’t happen. But Biden wasn’t as strong as I’d like to see him. He was pretty good, just not as good as I’d like – though I did love the way he championed Harris against Trump’s misogyny and called on everyone to do the same. That was great.
Harris, I thought, got better as she went on but was a bit rocky at the start.
Kamala was about my fourth choice, but she absolutely killed it today. So strong and charismatic.
Also, she has already upgraded the campaign’s music.
It is hard in an empty room. I agree.I think both got better as they went along.
I seriously wonder how long it will take for Trump to use a racist slur against Harris…I don’t think he’ll call her the N-word in public, but maybe we’ll get a private moment recorded where that happens. I do expect him to quit with the unsubtle jabs about “invasion of the suburbs” and go full on racist at some point though.
And, yeah, TPM should be putting up the Biden-Harris video if they are putting this up, Trump’s press conferences are more campaign events than presidential addresses at this point.

The speeches by Biden and Harris were first-rate. Kamala Harris will take the nation by storm with her demeanor and ability to get to the heart of the matter. Her comments on Trump’s failures were stinging and resounded with truth.

Yes they should have linked to it. It was important.
But they generally tend to undercover Biden. He’s actually got some great plans – and I do wonder what TPM will do when they no longer have Trump to report on. Oh dear oh dear. Whatever will they talk about.

You must of have been watching a different event because both Biden and Harris killed it at the one I was watching.
I judge everything as performance. And as performance, it was imperfect to me. But we all apply our own standards. If you loved it, it satisfied yours and that’s good.
Biden’s better when he’s angry, I think. To me it was good to see him looking and sounding confident and strong. This dementia stuff they’re slinging is just stupid. We know which one has a problem and it isn’t Joe.
