Trump Holds Briefing | Talking Points Memo

President Trump and the White House coronavirus task force are scheduled to hold a briefing at 5:30 p.m. ET. Welcome to today’s coronavirus briefing. There will be no hydroxychloroquine mentioned here, absolutely none. And by “none”, I mean there is a certain amount and it is for sale. Just call 1-800-NOTJARED, and one of our “operators” will take care of you.

Trump will hold a press rally, will take credit for the package, and spend two hours lying, whining, and praising himself. Nothing new.

BTW, Cuomo is live on Nicolle’s show on MSNBC.

OH No! not another episode of the Donnie and Mikey show. What hellish waste of precious broadcast time.

I forgot to ask, have the Democrats nominated a candidate yet? If, so, who is it?

I haven’t watched this dysfunctional, unproductive shit show for a long, long time. I was sick of seeing DJT’s mug and remain so.

JFC, not him again, not another media paid for campaign rally, but just another day at TPM full of right wing world happenings (Graham, Kemp, Barr and a VA Gooper) and just one mention of a Democrat and only because she’s objecting to something someone in the RWN world did.

Goes without saying that idiocy is not limited to Republicans. The fact that this honest, intelligent, courageous & emphatic woman is not being nominated is a monument to the stupidity of democrats.

She’s working with Sherrod Brown on this. Another great Democrat. The headline sort of misleads about that.

Oh, please. Democrats took a risk in 2016, look what happened. There’s a reason that the safe old white male former VP immediately jumped into the lead when he entered the race. People just weren’t going to take any chances on a “first”, no matter how well-qualified, this election was all about the “safe” choice.

And nominating Clinton in 2016 was not seen that way at the time?

It’s just one of those things. The headline at Vox (now?) includes both of them:

Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown’s plan to protect consumers from financial ruin

Not at all. That Bernie did so well was a testament to how fractured her support was even amongst Democrats.

I think @castor_troy is talking about the fear of nominating a woman again.

Pretty much. Sad that we’re not there yet, but really not too many other ways to read this one.
