Trump Holding Rally On Same Day As Mueller Testimony

President Trump will hold a campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina later this month.

Coincidentally, on the same day that special counsel Robert Mueller is set to testify publicly before the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees.

ā€œTrump said Mueller ā€œmustā€ keep his testimony within the realms of the report that he released on his investigation, before devolving into his ā€œNo Collusion, No Obstruction,ā€ ā€œGreat Hoaxā€ mantra.ā€

So Mueller must carefully stick to a narrow set of facts, while Trump can spew whatever lies he wants. This exemplifies how the impeachable damning results of the investigation were subsumed by the tactics of Trump and Barr, and I fear Aged Orange may just survive this.

Did I miss something? I don’t recall Mueller testifying yet in his capacity as Special Counsel.

The perfect epithet for Donald Trump.

As the Tangerine Twatwaddle would say: ā€œSad.ā€

I thought so, too. I understood that it will be a member from his team only.

This is the chance for congress to educate the public of what IS IN the Mueller report. I’ve read it and it is disgusting what Trump and Russia have gotten a way with. So, fine by me if they stay within the bounds of the report. I’m positive Trumpass has not read the report, otherwise, he wouldn’t be saying this.

Any news outlet choosing to air tRump’s rally, thereby giving him far more air time than he deserves, rather than covering the hearing with Mueller in attendance, before, during and after his momentous testimony, should be ridiculed to no end. Faux news will air it to the rubes non-stop. Anyone else that has an ounce of integrity will not allow themselves to be distracted no matter what kind of rabbit and bad behavior tRump pulls out of his hat at that rally to divert attention.

tRump believes the worst thing you can do is ignore him. He would rather have bad publicity, even if he has to generate it himself, to fuel his message and misdirect the public from the truth over rightly being ignored for doing so.

This is yet another indication that he is terrified of what Mueller will say.

Look at it this way…

Suppose he ignored Mueller.

That could be interesting. I don’t think of ECU as a conserative school and though I’d guess a lot of white folks in eastern NC are conserative, other than the school and associated hospital, I think of that area as pretty low income whites and non whites and a few rich big farmers.

Of course this is intentional, and it will work. All he has to do is say a few outrageous things and every nightly newscast will give him just as much coverage as the entire Muller testimony that day so as to be ā€˜fair to both sides’. So for the average nightly news viewer the entire thing will be a ā€˜he said, he said’ scandal.

As dumb as trump is, he and the republicans fundamentally understand how to manipulate the MSM into giving them the coverage they want (or at least blunting bad coverage) far far better than the Dems.

Diversion 101, but it’s not gonna work.

Yeah, because apparently the internet isn’t a thing to him

I’m pretty sure the rally will occur after Mueller’s testimony. Plenty of time for the Tangerine Terror to dream up more lies and maybe come up with a stupid nickname. Guess which show I’m going to watch and which one I will ignore.

We do not know what Mueller will say on July 17th…but we know what he wrote…and that was what Barr allowed for us to see.

Let that sink in and cheer up, people.

For ā€œmop-upā€ time…with a very very VERY ragged and rancid mop.

I agree that more people actually need to hear what is actually in the Mueller report. I’ve been listening to an audio version while I’ve been on my summer break from teaching. Even though I’ve followed the events as a committed reader of TPM, the details in the Mueller report outlining the scope of actions of the IRA and GRU to influence the election and hack into various organizations is sobering. (I’m not even halfway through at this point). How can any US citizens not be outraged by the Russian efforts to sabotage the 2016 election? Even if they don’t see the actions of people related to the Trump campaign and administration as intentional efforts to work with Russia, it’s distressing to observe the lack of concern and willingness to overlook the serious implications of appearing to cooperate with the attack on our election process.

Who is paying for the rally and for all
the other similar rallies? That includes the cost for Air Force One, the security detail, transportation for any random family member or sycophant.

His alternative is to start a war with Iran. I’ll take a rally.

Are we- somehow supposed to care about another of Trump’s rallies in the DEEP South? They’re all the same.
