Trump Has Lots Of Ways To Delay His Trial Until The ’24 Election

For years, faced with civil, congressional, and criminal investigations, Trump has returned to one strategy: delay.

The campaign itself is obstruction of justice.

Cannon lacks experience trying criminal cases; a New York Times article on Wednesday identified 14 days of criminal trials that she’s presided over since Trump appointed her to the federal bench in 2020.

Oddly, this might be a good thing. A more experienced judge sympathetic to a political defendant would have more experience in slow-rolling things without crossing a line that even the 11th circuit would step in to fix with a writ of mandamus. Like they did with her less than a year ago.

“Trump Has Lots Of Ways To Delay His Trial Until The ’24 Election.”

OK, so he goes to prison after his 2024 flameout defeat.

Instead of before it.

Either way: He’s going to prison.

(And taking his whole, rotten, traitor-defending party with him over the cliff.)

Meh, better odds he shuffles off his mortal coif choking on a hamberder first. But I’m ok with that. Something very healthy has been accomplished: this country has grappled with the notion that the preznit is not a king, not entitled to lifetime immunity to the courts. Yeah, he’s got an extremely favorable court on this one. So what: the politically expedient wound preznit Ford inflicted on the country with the pardon of Nixon just healed a little. A former preznit is in the criminal justice system and will be for the rest of his life, regardless of whether he dies before sentencing.

This is only indictment #2. He will vapor-lock or otherwise snuff it while under indictment or in prison.

I for one wish him a long life behind bars. Not that it would do him any psychiatric good, but to remind people that justice is not just for the itty-bitty people.

Nice cat pic fgs.

Yes. I’m so looking forward to two or three more - one state (Georgia) and one or two more federal indictments.

Fulton County is going to mess with his head:

  • a woman of color exercising control over him
  • the prospect of state prison time

If that wasn’t a typo, it’s the best double-entendre I’ve seen in years.

Many (mostly ex) members of the R party are warning that tfg will lose the 24 election. I’d think they’d want to do something about that.

He didn’t win the popular vote in 2016 or 2020 so he sure in hell not going to in 2024 because his rabid base is shrinking.

Overlard’s lost the Koch folks, who are now actively campaigning against his candidacy:

That’s pretty significant in my book.

NARRATOR: that was no typo. But his coif will outlive him.

They could have fixed their plurality-takes-all primary rules after 2016, but they didn’t.

I prefer conviction, and then death while he appeals

After the GOP circus tent comes crashing down, there is a lot of elephant dung to clean up. Rs realize Dark Biden is doing a fine job of restoring American prosperity which will give them something to plunder on their next turn in power. Rs dream of holding perpetual power, but in reality, they are codependent on Ds.

Oh yeah, people way back in 2015 said that (cough, Lindsey Graham). The GOP don’t care, Donnie completes them.

I’ve always seen the Dem/R dynamic as a Shiva/Kali thing where one party builds and the other destroys, guess who’s who.
