Trump Grasps At Fox News’ Dismissal Of WH’s Ukraine Call Memo

Fox News is a virulent, spreading, deadly cancer on the body politic.

President tweeted a quote from Fox News host Bret Baier, who said “But to the President’s point, you don’t see a direct quid pro quo in the language tying this to that.”

Wasn’t Bret Baier one of the Fox News lackeys that was sanctimoniously stating just a few weeks ago: "We don’t work for you, Mr. President " . When the rubber meets the asphalt they all align themselves with their true master.

Watch for Orange Trumpolini to green light attacks on the homeless disguised as efforts to clean up our “great American cities.” That’ll incite Antifa to confront the racist cops who are just looking for any excuse to try out their Army surplus anti-riot gear.

It’s coming. I’ve seen glimpses of it at every protest I’ve been to since 2017.

“waddling”

LOL! Yeah, that’s the word I would have used.

I would not want to be Rudiani right now. He’s going to have to appear before all these hearings and if he refuses it’ll just make it worse for him and Trump. He’s obviously Trump’s bagman (or errand boy), the guy tasked with delivering messages and responses that Trump doesn’t want to be on the record, meaning that whatever he discussed with Zelinsky and others is likely vastly worse than what was in the phone call. He’s Lucca Brazi–and we all know what happened to him. Does he want to spend the rest of his life in federal prison for perjury, or for extortion, bribery and treason?

Well those are just crimes, straight up, so if they do they get arrested.

I think Josh missed the most important word in that segue between Zelensky’s request to continue the defense support relationship. Immediately after Zelensky’s statement, Trump says “I would like you to do us a favor THOUGH.” It’s the though that signals the quid pro quo.

I expect more of the lone “sovereign citizen” type shit, increased threat activity, maybe a spate of incidents. I also expect them to get protesty…organized and bused in and what not by the party apparatus…and those protests to cause violence/riots. Dismissing it as just random crazies doesn’t take it seriously enough. Go spend some time in the State Media sewers and other favorite haunts of theirs. Look at what they’re saying on KKKomment boards. Feel the palpable increase in agitation. Read the deliberate attempts to heighten that agitation and outrage. I’m not trying to be alarmist or overly dramatic. I literally cannot see how a rational, sane person, informed of what’s going on, what the evidence actually shows, etc., could go to Faux News right now and not interpret the overall website as a concerted effort to both cover this up on Trump’s behalf AND agitate the base to no end and convince at least some to engage in violent activity…knowing full well the entire time that it’s likely to be a direct result of their disinformation and agit-prop. There’s a fucking line and they are enacting a Defcon 5 coordinated propaganda blitz that has left that line way in the dust. You know I go there every day. This is like nothing I’ve seen yet.

The Drudge headlines are certainly not covering for Trump. It looks pretty bad for him over there.

A guy is drowning, and you watch him flail in the water and say “I’ve got bills to pay, I could really use a couple hundred bucks.”

That’s quid pro quo.

Who, the cops? From what I’ve seen, they’re more than willing to be Trumpian Brown Shirts and a lot of heads will get cracked by statie stormtroopers. Those guys are just itching to use their firepower.

Drudge Report is still a thing?

I’ll admit they’ve used Antifa as a scapegoat and bugaboo in a way that’s really pretty ominously authoritarian. That said, I still don’t see it. This is not Weimar Germany. If Trump starts advocating violence they’ll rush to shut him up. I’ve been to rallies starting the Thursday after Election Day and never saw one confrontation or tense situation. (Seen a couple idiots yelling on TV over the years.) I don’t think the grass is dry enough to catch fire, so to speak. We’re too comfortable. You aren’t going to go terrorize your neighbors if you have to stick by the grill to turn the steak before it gets overdone.

Depends on the cops and I can tell you that most cops are more interested in keeping the peace locally because they have to answer to local authorities.

I can!

It’s gonna be like Pickett’s Charge.

Only with mobility scooters.

My daughter and I got a good dose of pepper spray in Boston last month just standing on the sidelines of the Straight Pride “parade.” The cops were out of hand and scared me more than the throngs that were shouting at the kooks on the floats. Things can get nasty right quick.

Wow. That’s equivalent to something like this:

Is that a cat? (Did Zelensky ask for military aid?)

Yes.

Is its fur black? (Did Trump immediately respond, “Do us a favor though.”?)

Yes.

Is that a black cat? (Is that a quid pro quo?)

No.

The level of gaslighting here is enough to make the Hindenberg look like a camp fire.

I get the concern but I don’t worry that much about it, not yet anyway. There may be a disproportionate amount of Trump support among everyday cops and some might actually be willing to go this far, but most aren’t, and won’t, not in this climate at least. Maybe someday if we’re further radicalized and something truly terrible happens, worse than 9/11, but not now. There’s a wide gulf between fantasy thinking and action for most people, even cops.
