Shortly after President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his pick for Democratic nominee, Republican leadership in Congress quickly put out some guidance to lawmakers about how to message around Harris, the first Black, Asian American, woman vice president. Perhaps aware of conference members’ worst impulses…
Trump campaign is apparently playing 1/2 - dimensional chess. I wish them well on their continued outreach endeavors.
Wow. He dug in on everything. I just don’t see how a person of color could vote for this ass. I also don’t see how a woman could vote for him. He drips bile.
Trump’s goal was to show he can dominate Black women because he’s going to run against one. A spectacular failure result, which he claimed as a win.
He is SOOOO afraid of black women.
Wondering at this point if Hakeem Jeffries is having some Republicans sidle up to him and whisper, “Is it too late to change my party and caucus with you guys?”
I’m sure his handlers are cringing. I knew he would be bad, but I didn’t expect THAT bad.
But sadly, the post-election demographics will indicate a significant portion of both will vote for him because they can’t bring themselves to vote for Kamala. Rather than allow her to climb that ladder and break that glass ceiling, they would much rather push her down and keep her down. This is something that doesn’t make sense to anyone, but has been part of the narrative for generations.
Trump wanted them black folks to say thank you sir for honoring us with your visit.
I watch Josh Johnson’s weekly standup comedy clips on YouTube. So should you. In this week’s clip, he talks about the attack on Kamala Harris that critiqued her for being descended from slave owners and anti-abolitionists. What he told us was that Republicans, and the Trump campaign, are inadvertently giving us a lesson on critical race theory.
Donald Trump’s remarks today are another lesson for this country. They show us how Trump and his ilk see race fundamentally different than most black people see race. They show how much he doesn’t understand.
The problems are obvious, and America is getting the lesson it needs on racism.
So happy to see your avatar now that we’ve made it through that long acrimonious weekend. I was mostly off line last week with a gall bladder removal.
Ok, so long ago I adopted Trump’s Razor when it comes to trying to understand what/why this guy is doing X. For those of you new to the room, Trump’s Razor states that the stupidest reason for anything is usually the correct one. So here goes…
Did he do this interview specifically to show off how racist he could be?
Nothing else makes sense.
Editing to add that Trump’s Razor is a theory I first read in one of Josh’s editorial posts as a way of trying to demystify Trump. It really helps, especially since it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that there’s a deeper reason behind these stupid decisions.
tsf’s campaign had this to say after his appearance
When NBC News reached out to the Trump campaign for a response to the almost immediate backlash to his comments about Harris’ race, communications director Steven Cheung replied, “Backlash from the truth? These people must be deranged,” he said.
a clueless campaign that doesn’t seem to care.
With tears their eyes.
Is he trying to lose now?
Just
OH
MY
GAWD
I really didn’t think I could be stunned anymore by what an utterly horrible person he is and yet, here we are…
Yes. But I think the real problem is that he doesn’t understand race, except in terms of white supremacy. In terms of white supremacy, it’s all about purity. He assumed that black people see race the same way, so he assumed that his attacks on Kamala Harris being not black enough would resonate.
He is so racist that he doesn’t understand anything but white supremacy.
Edit: need cats.
Nah. He’s still afraid of jail
Hoping the surgery went well and you are recovering nicely.
