Those states include California, Florida and Texas, he said. But how many seats they’d lose, and whether more states could also lose House representation is unclear, he said, due to the intricacies of the apportionment process. It’s also unclear, he said, which states would gain those seats.
I’ll bet it’s pretty fucking clear to the party that wrote software to model how best to gerrymander every state in the union.

With Trumpism, the brazen character of the policy is the point.
It’s not the ole horse-trading of Representative Government used for decades. This is steamrolling domination…and after the other side loses…they are surely going to lose again…into nothingness.
Because there is no intention of there ever being a stable “other side”…Every (and I mean every) “other side” is on the run…into oblivion.

I’m not even sure how they’d actually manage to do it, since they’re not collecting the actual information of ‘are you here without documentation?’
Absent that, there’s no real, reliable way to produce ‘adjusted’ numbers that can be considered accurate. Any ‘adjusted’ numbers they do provide are immediately subject to challenge as a result.

The Census Bureau has said it plans to release that data around the time it releases the typical redistricting data that counts the total population. But the Bureau hasn’t yet given a full picture as to how it’s assembling the data.
If it helps, neither does the Census Bureau. They’ve simple pledged their fealty to the Dotard, and said “Yes Sir! Thank you, Sir!”

This is a memo, not an executive order, so the legality is much more shaky. Is this just faux red meat to the base?
Congress has power over the census in the constitution articl1, section 2. And the census references persons, not citizens.
The only way Trump wins is if one of his appellate judges agrees with him and the Supreme Court slow walks it before deciding it correctly… in 2022, making it timely for 2030 census.

This is a certain loss, especially when it is reversed in 2021. We will need a completely new census in 2021. There’s no constitutional requirement that it be completed in 2020. I’d declare a mulligan and start over. You can be certain the Trump people have fucked the census up.

This is all about his blaming his loss on illegals voting. He’s hoping for an injunction against implementing this policy so he can tell his base that the deck is being stacked against him.
