President Donald Trump signed Congress’ bipartisan $900 billion COVID-19 relief package, which had been combined with a $1.4 trillion government funding bill, on Sunday night after threatening to veto it over his demand to increase stimulus payments for many Americans to $2,000.
Chickenshit coward signs bill while hiding in Florida and playing golf and Pence is skiing. You would think we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic and financial crisis.
He vetoed the NDAA because it makes it harder to form shell companies, which are probably the main source of his money. His excuse is that the bill removes Confederate traitors’ names from military bases. Let’s hope Congress overrides that veto, the passage of that would cut him and a lot of other grifters off at the knees.
Gotta create chaos so the corruption flies under the radar. This veto for shell companies is almost certainly the story of this entire nonsensical episode.
Even his favorite New York City newspaper has turned.
Sidney Powell is a crazy person. Michael Flynn suggesting martial law is tantamount to treason. It is shameful.
We understand, Mr. President, that you’re angry that you lost. But to continue down this road is ruinous. We offer this as a newspaper that endorsed you, that supported you: If you want to cement your influence, even set the stage for a future return, you must channel your fury into something more productive.
Seems TPM bought the Trump scam just like the rest pf the media did. Trump knew there was never going to be a 2000$ distribution without a long period of shutdown ( which no one wanted ) making it safe for him to show compassion for the first time in his 4 years as POTUS but it was “fake compassion”. He was always going to sign that 600 dollar bill and probably preferred 200 dollars behind his compassion facade. He maxed put the theater, cast a bogus claim and in the end did the thing that takes the least amount guts. In other words what he’s always dopes but again…we see it reported as something real.
In a White House announcement laying out his decision, Trump reiterated his complaints about the bill and stated he would send a “redlined version” of the measure to Congress after approving it in its original form, which will send $600 payments. He insisted that he was sending a “strong message” to Congress.
Congress: Yeah, Mr. P, we’ll get right on that redlined version. because that is totally the way things work. By the way, did you get a chance to watch that Schoolhouse Rock video we sent you for Christmas?
Now on to the Defense Authorization bill! I heard some Congresscritter from Oklahoma on TV (can’t recall which one) who had voted for the bill but won’t vote to override the veto. He said, “Well, he’s the Commander in Chief”. Yes he is for the next 23 days, but he was CiC when he said he would veto it and you voted for it, you moron…
Well, two of them signed on to the Texas Scotus filing, so it’s probably one of them (Hern or Mullen). The other two didn’t sign on, and the last is a new loathsome member who ran on guns and Trump. Our Senators are probably hoping that they don’t have to vote on an override.
