Wonder who twisted his arm to show even this paltry bit of respect.

Dickhead. John Lewis was worth a thousand of any Trumpster.

Shouldn’t this be “WH staff panics over optics of Trump ignoring John Lewis and rushes out a tweet to try to cover for Trump’s racism”? Seems far more likely that some WH staffer popped out a tweet to cover for Trump not bothering to do the very basic things that presidents do when someone dies.

Ignoring Lewis’s death is just one more dog whistle for the white supremacists that follow Trump, the disrespect is the point.

Half a day? He’s pulling the same shit he did with McCain. I hope he understands that when he dies there will be dancing in the streets for 30 days.

“Dammit, I didn’t think anyone would notice, all black people look the same…”

The optics are even worse coming from someone should really should have known the difference…really, Republicans are just trying to make the point that their party is the party of racists every single time they do something this thoughtless.

Additionally according to Mother Jones each “reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act—in 1970, 1975, 1982, and 2006,” had wide bipartisan support getting well over 300 votes in the house and a super majority in the senate. Hmmm then something happened.

“John Lewis is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice,” the president said.

“There was a brief period a decade ago when many pundits claimed Marco Rubio would be the future of the GOP, and in a way, they weren’t wrong at all.“

“Melania and I send our prayers to he and his family.”

I’m not much of a religious person, is this what you do? Send prayers to the dead person? I mean, I guess you might pray for their soul, but those are different sorts of prayers than the ones you send to their family. Other than the grammatical error is this normal, or typical Trump not being able to do the simplest ceremonial things?

Well, to me, all Canada-born Hispanic types look the same.

Prize to the best guess on how Barbie Doll the Press Secretary will explain this.

Let us start with a very weak attempt.

“The President is a busy man. So many black people die everyday. The press, as usual, wants to make it about racism. The President is the least Racist person in his own mind.”

The day should be focused on the life of John Lewis. Not the puppet in the White House.
