The FBI executed a search warrant on Wednesday at an election office near Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia, a locale infamous among MAGA conspiracy theorists’ who fulminated about the 2020 election and beyond. The search was, indeed, related to the 2020 election, according to a sweeping search warrant that surfaced hours after the raid. The warrant…
Fulton County, a majority Black county in a red-trending-purple state
Would I be wrong to suspect the “red-trending” ship has now sailed? Voters everywhere have been abandoning Rethugliklan candidates in droves. It’s as if they don’t really cotton to spineless, pro-fascist lapdogs.
The warrant showed that investigators were seeking “all physical ballots from the 2020 General Election in Fulton County; including, but not limited to: absentee ballots to include envelopes; advanced voting ballots; provisional ballots; in-person election day ballots; emergency ballots; damaged or destroyed ballots; duplicated ballots; or any other ballot that was used to cast a vote.”
The FBI has already moved all of the obtained materials to a secure location at Mar-a-Lago:
Which federal judge signed off on the search warrant?
How the hell did the regime convince a judge to approve a search warrant? Maybe by lying?
This is as alarming as hell.
From the NYT:
The warrant, which was signed by a magistrate judge, Catherine M. Salinas, said the records were sought as part of an investigation into possible violations of a federal law against destruction of election-related records, and another statute that makes it a crime to knowingly procure fraudulent voter registration or fraudulent votes.
In an unusual twist, the prosecutor listed on the warrant is not from Georgia, but the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Thomas Albus. It is unclear what would connect prosecutors in Missouri to Mr. Trump’s longstanding complaints about how the 2020 election in Georgia was conducted.
I know they will manufacture an outcome that gives the First Felon his wish, but what happens if the reality is there are minimal to no irregularities?
Catherine M. Salinas used to practice law in Texas and voluntarily resigned from the State Bar of Texas in 2015. I wonder if @txlawyer has anything to say about her.
Re: 2020 ballots
So what? Big deal! What if the First Felon, twice impeached’s thugs manage to hork the ballots to where it increases his total? So what?
Way back in the 2000 election, which will live in infamy, a complete count of the Florida ballots, eyeballing each one carefully, revealed that Vice President Al Gore had actually WON THE STATE. And thus, had not only won the national popular vote, but also the Electoral College (may it burn in hell).
So what? We don’t have backsies in US law. George W Bush (the Lesser) had already been sworn in, ignored the 9/11 warnings, and became a national hero for letting New York City be devastated. It was too late to slot Gore into the presidency. We have rules.
So whatever Trump’s goons and charlatans come up with, it is irrelevant. Somebody – like each and every news report and talking head and print pundit and podcaster – needs to be emphasizing this.
Okay, I’ve exceeded my rant quota for the day.
Bald-faced corruption.
Here’s a portion of Attachment B from the warrant:
I find it curious that the “Particular Things to be Seized” includes “All records relating to violations of Title 52, United States Code,…” Has it already been established that there were such violations? What if it turns out that there were no such violations?
They keep searcing of course to uncover the coverup of this vast conspiracy!
Sounds like she is as corrupt as they come, just like the rest of the administration. ![]()
C’mon…ALL that matters is that Trump is “proven” right, whether it’s actually true or not!
Well, no. He’ll next demand a third term, which he’ll insist he “earned”, free of charge, no election needed because he “won” in 2020 but they let Biden into the White House.
Remember all the times in Term One when he kept whining that he needed to be given another term, no election required, because everybody was so mean to him? (Guess he never heard of “Bill Clinton”, “Jimmy Carter”, “Barack Obama”, etc… Also, being a big crybaby always used to work for him.)
re Georgia 2020: This was probably the most scrutinized election in Georgia history. There was a recount, a GBI audit, a failed lawsuit or two, & of course there was the civil suit against Giuliani. Truly, if there were something worth finding, it would have been found by now.
A neighbor told the New York Post that Kazmierczak has been “heavily medicated” since a car wreck damaged his spine, and has since been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, calling him a “pretty conservative guy.”
Just realize, “pretty conservative guy” is today’s version of “nutjob”.
Of course, but MAGA is all-in on The Big Lie.
Wait, resigned from the bar and yet got appointed a magistrate judge? In my half-century of practicing law, I have not encountered that.
