President Donald Trump insisted on Wednesday that COVID-19 is going away despite the fact that over 20 states are seeing case numbers ramp up.

And the deplorables will be the genesis of the 2nd wave. And 3rd wave. Etc. Etc.

We’re gonna need bigger Trump Trailers.

We shouldn’t be surprised anymore at anything Trump blurts out.

During one trade meeting, Trump grew irate when advisers began discussing Japan and the alliance, and began railing about Pearl Harbor, Bolton writes.

For extended periods of time, Trump kept telling different advisers they were in charge of border policy, according to Bolton’s book. One day in 2018 in the Oval Office, Kelly purportedly learned that Kushner was calling Mexican authorities when he barged into the Oval Office and said so.

“Why is Jared calling Mexicans?” Kelly asked loudly, according to the book. “Because I asked him to. How else are we going to stop the caravans?” Trump responded.

“He second-guessed people’s motives, saw conspiracies behind rocks, and remained stunningly uninformed on how to run the White House, let alone the huge federal government,” Bolton writes, always looking to “personal instinct” and opportunities for “reality TV showmanship.”

Lately it seems his go-to response to bad news is to simply assert the opposite. I’m not sure he’s bothering any more to think about how what he says is perceived or what reaction it gets. He’s just doing what he does, and if it’s irrational and ineffectual that doesn’t penetrate his bubble.

And I’m sure that by now Jared has figured out which manufacturers/suppliers of body bags give the best kickbacks.

And in our How About That segment of the news, the Supremes just blocked Trump from ending DACA protection for the Dreamers, saying it was arbitrary and capricious. Roberts joined the liberals.

Heh.

Seriously I’ve met some Dreamers. It’s the height of cruel stupidity to throw them out of the only country they’ve ever known. But you all know that.

Please. The government doesn’t like to call them “body bags.” It prefers the more clinical term human remains pouch (HRP). Moreover, the government doesn’t order cadaver pouches, er, HRPs in million unit increments; tt only buys in 100,000 unit increments.

BTW Still no word on when the fashionable Ivankationette-designed bags will be available. However, there’s still plenty of her trademarked Chinese-made caskets* available.

*But wait. Order now and they’ll double your order! (Just pay separate shipping and handling.)

So many possible answers to that question.

So little time.

John Bolton to ABC News: “I don’t think he’s fit for office. I don’t think he has the competence to carry out the job. There really isn’t any guiding principle that I was able to discern other than what’s good for Donald Trump’s reelection.”

Whatever you say about John Bolton and his failure to do his patriotic duty, he’s a keen observer and a credible recorder of the situations he observed.

So we have post-policy Republicans and their party leader has remained firmly in the no-policy theory of governing.
Maggie H really needs to get an interview with Trump so she ask him, “Mr. President, sir (he likes people to call him sir), what did you think the job of being President was going to entail?”

Remember that movie “Dave”/

Trump is the anti-Dave.

Thomas Wright over at The Atlantic said he’s a warmonger who can’t think strategically but you have to give him credit—none of the other high-level appointees have spoken out quite like this. (Even Mattis didn’t make with funny or horrifying anecdotes.) He’s also far from stupid or incompetent. And he’s not a traitor. He’s wildly misguided, but he thinks his ideas are right for America, not solely right for himself and whatever client state he’s cozying up to.

If you ask me, “Why is Jared calling Mexicans?”, should have been the title for Bolton’s book.

Trump’s answer:
“In tail? Is that what people are calling it now? I liked chasing tail. Your president is a bigly president.
Tremendous job. We don’t play. Pin the tail on the donkey? No way. But we did have an Easter egg hunt here. Lots of kids. Beautiful kids…”

Meanwhile, the US is racking up around 25,000 new cases every day, with daily death totals between 800 and 1200. Yeah, it’s fading away alright.
