Former President Trump — and all of us — now exists in a weird liminal space.
On one side, Trump has been indicted. His attorneys confirm it: a Manhattan grand jury voted on Thursday to issue felony charges against the former President.
the decision to indict has been made, but the charges remain under wraps.
So, we’re all in a strange limbo

He’s a traitor who staged a coup, lost an election and a former President running for election. How is this indictment a politically motivated event of anyone else’s but himself?
Trump does not intend to take a plea deal.
Tacopina added that his team planned to file various motions — likely motions to dismiss or appeal — to have the case thrown out.

Some experts have said they believe Trump could be charged with falsifying business records, which can be a misdemeanor or a felony under New York law. To secure a conviction on the felony charge, prosecutors would have to prove that records were falsified with the intention of committing or concealing a second crime. It’s not clear what prosecutors may allege as the second crime.
This may be the first time an ex President was indicted. It is definitely the first time an ex President’s criming rose to the level of being indictable.
