Trump Entered Fugue State In Debate Whenever COVID Came Up | Talking Points Memo

Yes, but I never got a Rondo listening to it

The pattern from the debate is clear, despite the dust that Trump threw up. Every time Biden hit Trump in the jaw he responded with unhinged rants. We’ve often been shocked at how low Trump can go and the spectacle becomes the story. Here, things like going after Hunter and Beau Biden were no longer shocking, just revolting. It was painfully obvious that if you hit Trump in the jaw he reacts by being unhinged. I don’t think folks quite get how brilliant Biden was in executing his game plan. Trump was unhinged and an embarrassment, but Biden caused him to make those mistakes.

And some did the work this morning. The money quote:

“Investigators found that at the time of the report, more than 307,000 pending enrollment records were for individuals already reported deceased by the Social Security Administration.”

A problem that Pence will have in the VP debate is that the audience is going to be more Democratic, because Harris is exciting and Pence is boring. That means Harris has an advantage in the post-debate polls.

Another issue Pence will have is if the issues become topical, Harris is extremely well versed on all of them from her time in the Senate. I think she’s actually better speaking from the Senate floor than in a political debate. Her delivery of prepared remarks during this campaign has also been excellent, so if she’s able to get her points off, she’ll win. She’s more likable and engaging than Pence. Pence has to spend all of his time covering for Trump and dancing around all the lies he has told over the years.

The only thing the Vikings are on their way to is an 0 - 16 season. I’ve been amazed to see that the Twins have had a limited infection rate for CV-19, so they did everything right. I don’t see the Vikings contracting anything but a winless season.

I grew up outside of Philly and that’s the first I’ve heard that one.

I’m going to let you in on a thing people in education and publishing know, which is that even professional writers in the younger generations don’t have the grasp of word meanings they think they do. My theory is for English speakers it takes a lot of reading and seeing the rarer words used in a variety of contexts to firm up your understanding of most of them. The younger folks, who grew up with all kinds of devices the boomers and Gen Xers mostly didn’t have, spent less time with print and you get this effect where they think the word means something it doesnt. : (

He’ll do it by telling even more lies, only in a very calm & relaxed manner as he did with Tim Kaine.

The Debate Commission just announced they will be releasing changes to the debate structure soon.

Good luck with that.

It sounds vaguely familiar. Do you remember the time they pelted Santa Claus with snowballs ?

The Vikings played the Tennessee Titans last week. 8 Titan players and 5 coaches have since been diagnosed. That’s going to affect every single game across the NFL for the rest of the season. Tho, I can’t disagree with your prognostications about the Vikes going winless. IMO, they shouldn’t even be playing.

So…that’s your suggestion for the country: Cope-land.

Has Trump started screaming about he’s a victim yet? Or is he going to wait to see what those changes are?

Just joking. We know the answer to that one already.
