Trump Enlists MAGA Footsoldiers To Join His DeSantis Shade Brigade

More of former president Donald Trump’s compatriots have joined in on pointedly criticizing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, presumed to be Trump’s top rival in 2024 once he launches his expected presidential bid later this year.

We’re just a thriving representative democracy with a healthy political system populated by adults who take their responsibilities seriously.

Tough Guy DeSantis is oh so fearless against those who don’t/can’t punch back, such as immigrants in TX (but not Cuban swimmers in FL), progressive DAs, Dem legislators, convicts who want to vote, gerrymandered voters, LGBTQ, librarians, etc… Watch the malignant narcissism of Trump and his Fascist ShockTroops turn him into quiet warm pudding. He may need bigger high heels.

Remember that DeSantis got re-elected last year by almost 20%. That shows you how screwed up Florida is and why this is going to be a real shit-show. Especially if Trumps feels that DeSantis won’t fight back, punching down is sort of his thing.

Is it wrong of me to hope they continue to rip each other to shreds over the next year or so? And that they turn on a few others along the way? Infighting is so much fun to watch.

Pass the popcorn!

For the Republican Party to save itself, I think they have to quietly go into the RNC bylaws and add a clause, hidden down somewhere like Section 12 Part 634, that says, “No one who has been convicted can be on the Republican primary ballot for president.”

Then don’t mention the change, especially to Ronna Trump*, and then just “discover” it in about December of this year. In the meantime, work like hell to make sure tfg gets convicted.

This will allow them to keep tfg off the ballot, but when the trumpanzees complain, they can just say, “See? It’s right there in the rules. Been there all the time. Not our fault.”

* You know, the head of the RNC. I heard she had changed her name again, to make double sure tfg doesn’t get upset with her.

(sigh, here we go again) DeSantis won by that margin because Dems ran Charlie Crist against him, a terrible candidate. Trump won Florida over Biden by just three percentage points in 2020. That’s the more meaningful statistic, because the state’s demographics haven’t changed that much in just two years.

The DNC has work to do in restoring support in the Latino community, but there is no point in writing off all the registered Democrats in that state if we want to make progress there.

I’m sure there’s gotta be purity crusade in the works.
Perhaps they’ll decide the same party can’t accommodate their disagreements and divide into two competing groups of real 'Muricans.
Each with its own claim to the absolute Truth.

Which one will form a third party effort ?

would have guessed Trump - eight years ago - but now that he has been the GOP guy would he go solo?

would his ego cause him to be lured into attempting the “impossible” - re-writing history - defy the odds?

nb. In any state where government money pays for the primary (which is all of them), they cannot add unconstitutional ballot requirements.

That might depend on how Donnie’s fortunes change after Jack Smith finishes indicting him.
Plausibly, he could lead his dead enders away from the RINO rank and file and establish a party with personal loyalty to ‘Murica’s favorite prez’nent’ and “peace in the Ukraine” as its only planks.

That doesn’t work for national elections due to the enormous expense involved in having to self-fund a candidacy. Trump and the rest of the candidates who actually aspire to winning the general election want to use the RNC’s war chest, not their own money. Also the RNC’s mailing list, although Trump already has that.

The “No Labels” party has some funding, but nowhere near what the DNC, RNC, and major donors will spend in the 2024 general election.
