Glenn Youngkin, Virginia’s GOP gubernatorial nominee, doesn’t seem too proud to be the only person in his race ex-President Donald Trump likes.

Some (few) Goopers are smart enough to realize that this is the kiss of death. Especially in a state that just flipped blue.

GLENN YOUNGKIM
is a duplicitous poser - a flat out FRAUD -
he is putting up a facade that he has every expectation of ignoring if elected!

Hell! just be honest & tell people what you intend to do …
Oh that’s right - you KNOW you can’t win on what you intend to do - because people don’t want that !
… so your plan is to lie your ass off - straight to their face …
so what else are you experienced at lying about?

He told them he could start going on “offense” when he became governor and had a majority in the House — but needed to focus on not alienating independent voters during the campaign.

IMHO, all Republicans are unethical, lying scum, including Glenn Youngkin.

“He spends all his time attacking Donald Trump, but here’s the truth,” the ad’s voiceover says before cutting to clips of McAuliffe toasting Trump at an old fundraiser and the latter calling the Democrat “a friend of mine.”

Welp. So much did that “carefully thought out” strategy that Trump just singlehandedly destroyed with a single whatever he’d doing instead of tweeting these days.

It is Virginia, but still interesting to see a Republican run hard away from Donald Trump.

Youngkin is a coward. Besides the audio of him mentioned in the article and by @jinnj above, when he’s been asked whether Biden won or not, he says “Biden is the President.” He refuses to say “Yes,” although he obviously knows the answer.

Both of these demonstrate abject cowardice. I hope McAuliffe and others run lots of ads about this that just say, “Coward, coward, coward.”

Who gives a hot damn what Glenn says – I’ve yet to see one of his Northern Virginia ads SAY he’s a Gooper. And with that audiotape of him about his view on abortion vis-a-vis getting suburban women to vote for him . . . well, the first word that comes to mind to describe Glenn is COWARD.

Glenn A. Youngkin is 54 and wealthy beyond imagining … yeah, he got squeezed out of his gold-mine position as Co-head of the Carlyle Group, one of the largest private equity firm in the world. Carlyle - is the epitome of “wealth” & is known for its connections to both the Bush and Bin Laden families.
So now he is going to dabble in the politics game - see if he can become a political super star -
… super wealthy guy - if he wins Virginia - will be having Presidential dreams dancing in his scheming head in no time!

First-time candidate, Youngkin’s vast personal wealth gave him the ability to self-fund his candidacy, and he spent at least $5.5 million of his own money on his primary campaign.

Looks like his plan is to tap dance / pander around every critical issue & try to be all things to all people.

it is disturbing how readily “FRAUD” is incorporated into the things that Youngkin does … this from the primary campaign back in March - just perfectly fits the stereotype of the uber-wealthy guy buying his way into office …

Youngkin reminds me of a cat trying to cover shit on a marble floor.

I thought I read a month ago that Glenn loaned himself another $12 million. And he’s pissing it all away in the super expensive DMV television market, even running ads on CNN and MSNBC (don’t know if he’s running ads on FoxNotNews).

Trump’s blessing isn’t exactly a badge of honor in Virginia.

How can the kiss of death not be seen as anything other than a “blessing”?

Here in the DMV we are bombarded with this guy’s ads. He’s phony baloney. Makes it sound like he grew up in poverty (he went to a private prep school) and “played basketball every day” so he could get a college scholarship (he is 6’7" and went to Rice). He’s worth at least $300 million. He’s a Virginia-brand version of Brett Kavanaugh. McAuliffe will beat him.

And no doubt tying himself into knots in the process.

LET’S HOPE THAT -

  • For the MAGAs - the waffling means this is NOT enough to turn out for him

  • For the Independents & Democrats - this is more than enough for them to turn out in droves to vote for Terry McAuliffe

This is about trying to get progressive Democrats to turn on McAuliffe, splitting the vote enough so that he loses. It’s not about Youngkin repudiating Trump’s support…he will depend on that in the conservative parts of the state and will (quietly) tout it when he’s campaigning. He’s obviously decided to try to disguise himself as a moderate Republican…it’s unlikely to work, but it’s the only chance he has.

I suspect we will see a lot of this kind of campaigning next year, with Republicans trying to act like normal people as much as they can after they win their primaries. Democratic campaigns have to tie every single one of them to Trump and the insurrection, any Republican who won’t state that Biden won and the insurrection was bad should not be elected.

Among Carlyle Group’s other commercial strengths, they have been a global leader in buying weakened companies, sending all the non-executive jobs to low-wage countries, and screwing USA employees who built or grew the companies, and their communities also.

And then there are other strengths in Carlyle Group’s history, such as Combined Systems Inc. tear gas, Wesco-supported Typhoon combat jets used in Saudi attacks on Yemeni civilians, United Defense weapons and munitions, and more :
